How To Become A Professional English Tour Guide

Run down Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.

Steve Jobs

Kevin is one the very best guides we have ever had, and we've been pretty much around the world. He is personable with an easygoing enthusiasm, and he seemed to know everything there is to know about Taipei. Any building, he seemed to know the architect; he not only showed us temples, he explained the place of Taoism & Buddhism in people's lives. We saw everything we hoped to see--and it was a long list--yet he got us back to the ship early! We were supremely happy with Kevin and you will be, too.

Few cons to be a tour guide • High similarity of itinerary all the time

• You are working, not traveling

• Little sleep & Long working hour

• Lots of research, especially in English

Don't follow your passion, and the world is not going to hell in a handbasket and the class of 2015 is not required to save it. 1. Passions are hard to prioritize. 2. Passions change. 3. It's self-centered. "Find that thing you're great at. Put that into the world. Contribute to others. Help the world be better."

Ben Horowitz

Preparation -> During The Tour -> Case Sharing

Curiosity, reading and database are three vital part for the preparation to be a professional guide.
