How would you make your content fit like your favourite jeans?

Write tight

Make a backup copy.Delete all unnecessary words.Simplify or delete words any of your readers might not understand. Replace fuzzies with precise terms. Cut modifiers that aren’t vital. Delete or move words and ideas that have ended up in the wrong place.Organize your content under subheads. Chop what doesn’t fit neatly. Add a temporary word parking lot, just in case. Eliminate the word that any time it’s not required. Pretend you’re being charged a buck a word. Link to longer content.Get rid of your ego.

• Avoid the two most common gaffes: 1. confusing contractions and pronoun possessives, eg It’s and its 2. words that sound alike, eg discrete and discreet
