GAME ONE Donovan Mitchell posted 27 points and 10 rebounds, becoming the first player
since LeBron James in 2006 with 25 points and 10 rebounds in their career
playoff debut.
Alec Burks exploded of the bench, tallying 10 points in just 2:17 minutes of play.
Burks is the third player since 1964 to have 10+ points in less than 3 minutes
played in a postseason game.
PLAYOFF BOUND The No. 5 Jazz will face the No. 4 Thunder in the First Round of the 2017-18
NBA Playoffs. Of the ten 4 vs. 5 matchups over the last five seasons, the fifth-
seed has won eight times. This will mark the first time since the Thunder moved
from Seattle to Oklahoma City that the teams will face off in the postseason.
Utah clinched their 27th playoff berth in franchise history, having advanced to
the Conference Semifinals 15 times, Western Conference Finals six times, and
the NBA Finals twice. It is their first consecutive playoff appearances since the
2008-2010 seasons. The Jazz return six players (Alec Burks, Dante Exum, Derrick Favors, Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles and Raul Neto) from
the 2017 playoff roster. Thabo Sefolosha (92 games), Jae Crowder (35 games), Jonas Jerebko (22 games) and Ekpe Udoh (8 games)
also bring playoff experience to this year’s squad. For a more detailed look at this year’s Jazzmen’s playoff experience, refer to the
accompanying chart.
THE MATCHUP Utah and Oklahoma City square off in the postseason for the fifth time in history, and the first time since the 2000 Playoffs, back when
the Thunder was the Seattle SuperSonics. The Jazz are 2-2 all-time against the Thunder/Sonics in the playoffs, owning a 12-10 overall
record, 9-2 at home and 3-8 on the road. This is the third time the teams will be facing each other in the First Round. Utah’s largest
playoff win in the all-time series was a 35-point victory on 5/30/96. Karl Malone scored 50 points against the Sonics on 4/22/00.
The Jazz and Thunder face each other for the first time since 12/23/17. Oklahoma City won the 2017-18 season series, 3-1. Jazz
rookie Donovan Mitchell averaged 20.7 points on 53.3 percent shooting overall against the Thunder. Oklahoma City’s Russell
Westbrook posted averaged of 22.8 points, 11.3 rebounds and 10.0 assists to pace the Thunder.
ONE NOT DONE The Jazz hold a 15-11 record in all-time first round series,
translating to a 64-63 mark in total games played. Utah is
43-23 in first round home games and 20-40 on the road.
Since the NBA transitioned first round series from best-of-
five to best-of-seven in 2003, the Jazz are 3-3 in first round
series and hold a 11-7 record at home and 7-15 mark
away.
TAKE FIVE Utah has been the fifth seed five times, amassing a 6-6
overall series record. As the fifth seed, the Jazz are 5-1 in
the First Round, and have defeated the fourth seed in each
of their last five appearances.

MR. MARCH/APRIL Donovan Mitchell was named the Kia NBA Western Conference Rookie of the Month for games played during March and April. Mitchell was also the
award’s recipient for December, January and February becoming the first rookie in the West to garner the accolade in four-straight months since Karl-
Anthony Towns in 2015-16. Mitchell is the first Jazzman to win the award four times in a season. Below are Mitchell’s March/April highlights: Averaged 22.8 points (best among all rookies), 4.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals in 36.3 minutes per game during the months, helping Utah
to a 17-4 record.
Connected on 187 threes on the year, passing Damian Lillard (185, 2012-13) for the most threes made by a first-year player in NBA history.
Tallied 16 games with 20-or-more points (most among rookies during the stretch) and totaled 35 points at San Antonio on March 23, becoming the
first rookie to notch seven 30-point games in a season since Blake Griffin in 2010-11.
Posted 20-or-more points in 10-straight games from March 15 to April 3, marking the longest 20-point streak by a rookie in Jazz history, and the first
since Joel Embiid last season.
Joined David Robinson, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain as the only first year players, and only guard, since 1958 to lead their
team in scoring, while also winning 45-or-more games (min. 50 GP).
FROM ALL INGLES
Joe Ingles knocked down 204 three-pointers this season, the most threes made by a Jazzman in a
single season in franchise history. Ingles also became the 10th quickest player in the NBA this
season to reach 200 treys. The Aussie is just the second international player to connect on 200+
threes in a season (Peja Stojakovic, 2003-04 and 2007-08).
SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT Donovan Mitchell made four three-pointers in the Jazz’s win over Golden State on 4/10, setting a new single-season rookie record for most threes in a
season (186). The previous record was held by Portland’s Damian Lillard (185).
GOLDEN STATE OF MIND Utah defeated the Golden State Warriors, 119-79, on 4/10. The Jazz finished 3-1 for the season against the Warriors. Below are notes about the
4/10 victory and the season series as a whole: The Jazz’s 40-point win on 4/10 was the largest margin of defeat for the Warriors in the Steve Kerr era.
The Jazz outscored Golden State in the four-game season series by a total of 64 points, their largest scoring differential against any team this year.
Utah defeated Golden State three times this season, the first team to tally three wins against the Warriors in a single season in the Steve Kerr era.
Utah put together two 30-point wins over the Warriors. According to Elias, the Jazz are only the third team in NBA history to compile multiple 30-point
victories vs. defending champions in a single season (Detroit Pistons -- 1999-98; Syracuse Nationals -- 1959-60).
On 4/10, the Jazz held the Warriors to season lows in field goal percentage (34.9) and assists (13).
ROOKIE ROLLING Donovan Mitchell is the first rookie to lead his team in scoring, with the team
winning 45+ games, since David Robinson (1989-90).
LUCKY SIX The Jazz have put together four separate winning streaks of six games or more this
season (six, 11/22 to 12/4; 11, 1/24 to 2/14; nine, 3/2 to 3/20; six, 3/30 to
4/10). The last time Utah accomplished such a feat was during the 1998-99
campaign.
DONOVAN MITCH3LL
Donovan Mitchell finished first among all rookies in scoring average on the year (20.5). Mitchell connected on 187 three-pointers this season, which
is the most in a season for a rookie in NBA history. Mitchell posted 46 games with 20-plus points this season, the most by any rookie.
SLICK RICK
Ricky Rubio finished with 31 points, six rebounds and eight assists on 4/3 vs. LAL. Four of Rubio’s five career 30-point games have come this season.
Since 3/1, Rubio averaged 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.8 steals, with a +/- average of +12.0.
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS Donovan Mitchell posted 20+ points in 10 straight games from 3/15 to 4/3, marking the longest 20-point streak by a rookie in Jazz history.

which ranks fifth.
FAVORABLE MOMENTS On 3/13 vs. Detroit, Derrick Favors (3,602) moved into 10th place on the Jazz all-time rebounding list, passing Mehmet Okur (3,599). In addition,
Favors is one offensive board from passing Andrei Kirilenko for sixth in the Jazz list.
DONOVAN 20.0 Donovan Mitchell reached a season average of 20.5 points per game after finishing with 26 points on 4/3. Mitchell joins Allen Iverson (1996-97) as
the only rookies in NBA history to average at least 20.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steals and make at least 150 three-pointers.
ALONG CAME A “SPIDA” In his first 60 career games Donovan Mitchell tallied 1,191 points, 212 rebounds and 209
assists. According to Elias Sports Bureau, Mitchell is one of five active players who totaled at
least 1,000 points, 200 boards and 200 assists in their first 60 career games.
NOT EVEN CLOSE Utah won five games in a row by 15 points or more, with an average margin of 22.6 points,
from 3/7 to 3/15. The five-game streak was the longest in team history. The previous record
was from 4/13 to 4/19/95, when the Jazz won four in a row by at least 15 points.
IN IT TO WIN IT Utah won 21 out of 23 games from 1/24 to 3/17, ranking among the best two-loss stretches in team
history.
MIGHTY MITCHELL Donovan Mitchell is the first rookie in NBA history to lead his team scoring during an 11-game winning
streak (via Elias Sports Bureau). Mitchell averaged 21.3 points during the streak on 40.3 percent
shooting from long distance.
THESE GO TO 11 The Jazz went on an 11-game win streak (1/24 – 2/14), the team’s longest since a 12-game run from 2/11 to 3/10/09. Utah averaged 111.5 points
while allowing 98.0 points (+13.5 differential) during the streak, and shot 48.3 percent from the field and 43.4 percent from three-point range.
CAN’T MISS, WON’T MISS The Jazz logged four straight games shooting 55 percent or better from the field from 1/30 to 2/5, the longest streak in franchise history. The last
time Utah put together multiple games shooting at least 55 percent was 11/26 to 11/30/09 when they did so in three consecutive contests.
Additionally, the Jazz scored 120 points or more in each of the last four games from 1/30 to 2/5, which was the longest streak in team history since
11/7 to 11/15/84 (five-game streak). Utah has won its last 21 games when eclipsing the 120-point mark.
MITCHELL’S BIG NIGHT Donovan Mitchell poured in his second 40-point game of the season at Phoenix on 2/2, one point shy of his career-high 41 points set against New
Orleans on 12/1 when he broke a Jazz rookie record for points in a game. Mitchell became the first rookie to score 40+ points since Blake Griffin in
2011, and notched the first 40-point game by a Jazzman since Al Jefferson on April 12, 2013. In addition, Mitchell and Griffin are the only active
players to record two 40+ point scoring nights in their rookie season.
KING OF THE DUNKS Donovan Mitchell was crowned the Verizon Slam Dunk Contest champion at All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, becoming
only the second Jazzman to win the competition (Jeremy Evans, 2012). Five judges scored every dunk on a scale of 6 to
10, resulting in a high score of 50 and a low of 30. Mitchell scored a 48 on his first dunk, 50 on his second, 50 on his
third and beat out Cleveland’s Larry Nance Jr. with a 48 on his closing slam in the final round.

Several coaches and players from around the league have taken notice of Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell’s dominant play this season. Below are notable quotes from
figures in the NBA:
Washington Wizards head coach Scott Brooks:
“Yeah, one of the best young players. I guess you don’t even need to say that, he’s one of the best players in the league right now. He’s playing with a confidence, he’s
playing with a swagger, he’s playing with a toughness, he’s playing with a pace, he’s making shots, he’s attacking, he’s making plays. He’s a terrific player.”
Houston Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni:
“He’s really good. He’s really good. He’s going to be a force for a long time with his attitude, the way he plays. He already plays like a veteran. He’s impressive.”
Houston Rockets guard Chris Paul:
“One thing you can’t teach is the passion for the game and the aggression. You see how much he loves it, how he comes out and competes every night. Utah got a gem
in him.”
Houston Rockets guard James Harden:
“…Even guys like Mitchell from the Jazz, the rookie, he got game and I can take some things from him.”
New Orleans Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry:
“Obviously, Donovan [Mitchell] played a great game, kept pressure on our defense the whole game driving to the basket and when he didn’t drive, shooting the three-
point shot. I think he’s got the chance to be a great player.”
New Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins:
“They hit some shots. They hit big shots. The rookie [Donovan Mitchell] had a hell of a game. He dominated from start to finish. So they hit some big shots. Utah got a
really good one.”
Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers:
“… He’s crazy. He’s the best rookie in the NBA… If you don’t count Ben Simmons – excluding Ben Simmons, he’s the best rookie in the NBA. Him and Tatum… Donovan
Mitchell is the best rookie in the NBA, bottom line.”
Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg:
“He’s a monster. He’s a guy that can finish, he can shoot. The thing he’s doing an unbelievable job of is playmaking. He has the ability to play out of the pick-and-roll and
make the right play. They’re as good as there is in the league at making the pocket pass and spacing, and Mitchell makes a lot of those plays for them. He’s a highflyer,
he’s an absolute stud, he’s going to be a big-time player.”
NBA legend Kevin Garnett:
“This kid has an alpha about himself that you have to pay attention to.”
Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George:
“He’s really good. He’s a tough, fearless kid. We all saw that working out with him this past summer. I knew he was going to blossom.”
Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James:
“He’s a player. Kid’s got a lot of game. They’ve been riding that wave all season, since they realized what they’ve actually got. He’s not afraid of the moment, he just goes
out there and plays ball. They put him in situations where he can succeed and he’s just trying to take advantage of that.”
Cleveland Cavaliers center Kevin Love:
“He continues to get better. He’s been great for them throughout this entire year. He’s really good at splitting the double-teams and getting to the rack, finding different
players and he’s an electric type player. He plays above the rim and can really shoot it.”
Indiana Pacers head coach Nate McMillan:
“I really like him. I think he’s a strong, young player playing with a lot of confidence. He’s just aggressive. They’re playing him some at the point. A strong, young,
confident player. He came in and worked out for us, had a great workout. I really liked him coming out of the draft.”
Sacramento Kings head coach Dave Joerger:
“What a stud. He can play, man, he can really play and we’ve seen that on tape and we’ve seen that throughout the course of the year. He’s playing in an open system
with a stretch four so he’s got some space to attack. He gets to any spot he wants to on the floor. He gets the ball where he wants to get it. Tremendous, he makes a
couple shots – the bank shot there that kind of closed the door on us. His ability to attack and get in the paint, get to the foul line, make a shot, get to a spot and rise up.
His personality is very contagious for his team.”
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry:
“He’s confident, aggressive … he’s got a lot of different skill sets that he relies on. He’s taken responsibility for the major load of their scoring, so it’s always refreshing
when you see a rookie come in like that. Probably turned some heads at Summer League and whatnot, but he hits the ground running with full confidence in himself and
he has the ability to work through that transition to the league on the court. That trial-and-error actually being within the confines of the game, not just practice and film
study and all that other stuff. To actually get some reps out on the court, that’s big.”
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr:
“Just how confident he is as a rookie. Most guys don’t come into the league with that much swagger. He comes out here every night and looks like he’s trying to
dominate games, and I’ve got a lot of respect for that.”
NBA Analyst Charles Barkley:
“Donovan Mitchell has been the best rookie in the NBA this year.”
Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard:
“He should be Rookie of the Year for sure. Not just because of his numbers but his impact on their team. He’s leading them. He’s able to get to the rim. He’s shooting
the ball with ease. He’s a really good player, not just for a rookie.”

COMMUNITY CORNER
JAZZ 2017-18 COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS: The Utah Jazz hosted Autism Awareness Night on March 30 in
conjunction with Vivint Gives Back, Vivint Smart Home’s charitable
foundation. A sensory room, designed by Vivint Gives Back and the
Jazz, opened on Level 5 at Vivint Smart Home Arena for children with
autism spectrum disorder and other intellectual and developmental
disabilities to provide a safe haven for youth with conditions related to
neurodiversity. The room features a variety of games and tools to help
provide a sense of calm or stimulation, including state-of-the-art
multisensory stations, play therapy stations and activity panels. The
space also leverages technology stations featuring Apple iPads and
provides relaxing spaces for children and their families, including
quiet cubbies that allow for alone time. The room will be open for Jazz
games as well as other events hosted at Vivint Smart Home Arena.
The Utah Jazz and Ashley Furniture HomeStore, in conjunction with
their Hope to Dream Program, have teamed up for the second year to provide a good night’s sleep by donating 40 beds to underprivileged
youth. On April 4, children from the Hope to Dream Program were treated to a party on the court at Vivint Smart Home Arena, where they
received their very own twin bed, complete with pillows, sheets, book, as well as a Jazz blanket and basketball. Jazz broadcaster and
alumnus Thurl Bailey was on hand to read a bedtime story to the youth, who also had the opportunity to shoot baskets on the home floor of
the Jazz, interact with Jazz Bear, Jazz Dancers, Jazz Dunk Team and Jazz Gaming.
Utah Jazz guard Ricky Rubio has received the November NBA Cares Community Assist Award presented by Kaiser Permanente in recognition
of his many efforts to raise awareness and support research for lung cancer, the NBA announced Dec. 29. The award recognizes an NBA
player each month who best reflects the passion that the league and its players share for giving back to their communities. Kaiser
Permanente and the NBA are honoring Rubio for his work to generate awareness, funds and support for lung cancer research, a disease he
lost his mother to in 2016. In support of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, Rubio visited the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City,
spending quality time with patients undergoing chemotherapy, and meeting with surgeons and researchers to learn about the latest lung
cancer treatments and ways he could help the cause. Rubio also hosted “Ricky Rubio Lung Cancer Awareness Night” during the Jazz’s Nov.
25 game against the Milwaukee Bucks, donating 500 tickets to both the institute and Special Olympics. Before the Jazz’s home game
against Cleveland on Dec. 30, NBA Cares Ambassador Bob Lanier will present the award to Rubio during an on-court ceremony. Kaiser
Permanente and the NBA will donate $10,000 on Rubio’s behalf to 5 For the Fight Foundation.

Getting Ac-QUIN-ted Quin Snyder became the eighth head coach in Utah Jazz history, and only the fifth since the franchise moved to
Utah in 1979, on June 6, 2014. Snyder collected his 100th win as Jazz head coach on January 2, 2017, at
Brooklyn. With over 20 years of coaching experience, and 10 years of head coaching experience, Snyder has
sat beside some of the game’s most respected names and has coached in all walks of basketball life, including
the NCAA, the NBA Developmental League, the EuroLeague and the NBA. Snyder most recently comes to Utah
from the Atlanta Hawks, where he was an assistant to Head Coach Mike Budenholzer.
From 2007-10, Snyder was the head coach of the Developmental League’s Austin Toros (the D-League affiliate
of the San Antonio Spurs). With the Toros, Snyder garnered a 94-56 (.627) record, seeing the playoffs each year
and advancing to at least the D-League Semifinals every season.
In Snyder’s inaugural season, he inherited a team that had gone 21-29 the year before and flipped the script
guiding the Toros to a 30-20 record, a Southwest Division Title and an appearance in the 2008 D-League
Championship game. In 2009, Snyder was named the Dennis Johnson Coach of the Year. During his three
seasons in Austin, Snyder sent more players to the NBA and won more games than any other D-League coach.
Snyder got his first NBA coaching gig as an assistant with the Los Angeles Clippers in 1992-93, from there
Snyder served as an assistant/associate head coach at his alma mater Duke University from 1993-99. He
landed his first head coaching job with the NCAA’s Missouri Tigers and held that position for seven seasons
(1999-06). After his success with the Toros, Snyder went on as a player development coach with Philadelphia
(2010-11) and an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Lakers (2011-12), CSKA Moscow (2012-13) and
Atlanta Hawks (2013-14) serving under some of the most respected coaches in basketball.
CAREER TIMELINE
COLLEGIATE PLAYING CAREER Snyder competed collegiately at Duke University (1985-89), averaging 6.2 points, 4.2 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game in
136 games. Snyder led the Blue Devils to three Final Fours (1986, 1988, and 1989) and won two ACC Championships (1986, 1988).
Academically, Snyder was named to the ACC Honor Roll three times. Snyder attended training camp with the Indiana Pacers after
finishing his career at Duke, but went on to pursue other coaching endeavors.
A native of Mercer Island, Wash., Snyder earned undergraduate degrees in both philosophy and political science at Duke and later
earned a Juris Doctor and M.B.A from there as well.
