Fashion, Arts, Media & Entertainment Law Center (FAME)Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law | Yeshiva University
WELCOME TO FAME
The FAME Center at Cardozo School of Law, through its unique access to companies and professionals throughout the Fashion, Arts, Media and Entertainment industries, provides unprecedented training and development opportunities relating to the representation of businesses driven by the creative process. The FAME Center offers rigorous academic coursework, as well as externships, clinics and symposia featuring industry leaders and practitioners, focused on the practical realities of counseling clients—from startups to Fortune 500 companies. The center is designed to teach students to confront business challenges that, in the era of social media and digital access, are evolving faster than ever before. Through a collaboration among Cardozo’s faculty, industry leaders and other institutions focused on the creative arts and entertainment businesses, the FAME Center provides unique insights into the intersection of law and business in the fashion, performing and visual arts, entertainment, sports, industrial design, media, and film industries.
Barbara Kolsun, a leading fashion industry attorney with decades of experience directs the FAME Center, which has been shaped by a dynamic advisory board of industry leaders.
“The FAME Center produces creative lawyers for creative companies. These are businesses that require lawyers who understand business dynamics, brand protection and other intellectual property issues in today’s highly competitive international market.”
Dean Melanie Leslie
