TONDO - Narrative Toy, 2012
A mean to tell stories in a new and interactive way.Illuminated clock, theater and carillon together. TONDO works mechanically:by pulling the string, the hands rotate at different speeds, following a carillon's melody.Magnetic, interchangeable figures are attached to them.
The characters are taken from Grimm brothers tales, and the original stories can bemixed with imagination. The backgrounds are designed the same way, and allow to thefigures to move between them. Yellow and blue lights create day or night atmosphere.
A complete working prototype of the project was made.

NEOTRITION - The future of food, 2013
Design fiction project to investigate the potential future of food.After researching facts and speculations about future technologies, their societal impacts,applications and probable appliances, a narrative was created, in which a future scenariohas become reality.
The aim was to understand how Design can intervene, influence and what it can add to theexisting reality, in order to show a convincing future scenario. In this context, products,services and tools for the world of tomorrow were imagined and designed.
What if food production became digital and networked?How would digitally designed food look like?
NEOTRITION project describes a possible scenario of the food vending industry beingbased on 3D printing. 3D food printers replaced standard vending machines in the city toprovide the perfect food, made on demand for the individual nutrition needs.
Touch-screens display different options, ingredients, nutritional values and shapes tochoose from. The user personal informations are accessed, to compose the perfect menu.This scenario has, however, one flaw: any system based on digital technology can behacked, invaded and altered...

LIGHTZONE - Time lapse clock, 2014
A clock that allows the user to see not only his current hour.At the same time, he can observe the lapse that separates him from his friends orrelatives timezone.
The wish of the project is to help people far from each other to feel more connected ina visual, continuous way; Lightzone represents them together in a walk across days andnights.
Thanks to RGB colors principle, applied to the design and to the lights, the effect of dayand night in the users location is obtained, with representative pictures switching every 12hours.
Little figures can be attached in different positions, according to the time lapse between usand our beloved ones. The figures will then move together, according to the passing hours.
Body made of acrylglas and wood; a red and greenpattern design is printed beneath.
The Led lights are switching between red and green,to show alternatively the different designs for dayand night.
The figures on the clock hands represent the userand people in a different time zone; they arefollowing each other according to the passing hours.
The mechanism is programmed with Arduino.

PHOOKA - Interactive lamp, 2014
Interactive night lamp for children with touch sensors, shaped as a customizable monster.The capacitive sensors and Leds are programmed with Arduino.
The wish is to help children to overcome the fear of monsters and darkness, proposing afriend that helps them to fight these fears together.
Phooka is a shapeable creature designed to meet the fears in a positive, funny, gentle way;an interactive tool to approach them by playing. It shows to children what is behind the fearand teaches them to use imagination to create positive thoughts rather than frighteningmonsters. It stimulates curiosity, creativity and helps to develop self-confidence. Phooka isa "monster" that wants to fight fears together with the child.

LIFE-SUSTAIN in extreme conditions - Mountains and the human body, 2014
Challenges:Helping climbers and hikers against freezing and hyphotermia in case of emergency situations;Allowing survival in mountain accidents;Provide help to unprepared victims of changing weather;Extending lifetime until the arrival of rescue;Maintaining warmth in critical areas of the body;Preventing body parts damage caused by frost and wind;Integrating into existing equipment and behaviours
InterventionThe most favorable is in the worn clothes, since these items are in common to bothtargets. The jacket is always taken with, in all weather conditions. The clothing is also indirect contact with the body of the wearer and with the external environment.
FactsThe experienced climbers put themeselves more at risk than beginners and they are moreexposed to accidents. Professionals often are also too confident and make silly mistakes,such as forgetting to check the equipment. Generally, there are less professionals thanbeginners, so this is even a more important percentage.
Mount Eiger in Switzerland is one of the most dangerous for climbers because of itstechnical difficulties and unstable weather: as in the past as nowadays, it constantly claimsvictims. 90% of deaths occur because of environmental factors and rapid weather change:it slows down the trip, makes climbers / hikers get lost and/or stuck for the night or fordays without being prepared or sufficiently equipped; so they freeze to death until rescuesfind them. In the best scenario, they are saved at the price of losing limbs due to the frost.

Through air-filled inflatable pockets situated over the needed zones:to release air inside, the valve must be opened, then closed.
For security matters it is possible to inflate also through nozzles.The air provides insulation in needed areas, keeping bodys natural warmth.

Solution 1BPreventing heat loss from central body areas through chemistry
Chemical reactions can convert energy with minimum loss during transformations.Integration in the jacket of chemical compounds-based pads, situated over the neededzones, producing heat.
The pockets are filled with Zeolite pellets adsorbed on liquid Sodium Acetate: when theyabsorb water, a heat-release reaction occurs. Pads containing water are placed onshoulders: through pressure on nozzles, this is released into the bags starting thereaction.
The interaction between pads occurs through branch-structured tubes closed by plasticvalves. All the pads are removable and rechargeable, since the reaction is reversible. TheZeolite pads must be heated to return at the initial condition: the water molecules escapeas steam from the pads made of semi-permeable membranes.

Through thermal bands, wrapped on areas over main blood vessels, which reflect backbodys own heat. These bands are also integrated in the jacket in specific zones. They keepthe limbs own warmth inside, by reflecting it back to the blood circulation. Keeping theheat into the vessels mainly prevents heat loss by evaporation and convection.

Physical model
!e physical model is a test of new, modern way of manufacturing and replicating oneof the pieces exhibited in Grassi Museum of Leipzig. A 3D model was developed withcomputer sculpting so%ware (Z Brush 4R2 and 3D MAX 2011) and then 3D printed ina specialized university workshop. I LOVE DESSAU - App concept, 2013
The project began with the analysis of the German city.It is based on citizens collected opinions. The emerging result is that Dessau is a city toexplore, that offers various activities, although they are not properly known.Tourists come only to visit the Bauhaus, and even students have trouble getting in contactwith other places of interest.
I Love Dessau is an App that aims to solve this information problem, by bringing thevisitors to very "personal" places of the city. The guide is based on points of view of localpeople:their favorite areas have been included in the App with quotes and ratings. The users cantherefore explore the city through the eyes of the citizens; the App is available in manylanguages.

Grow your professional network during a friendly lunch conversation
This App aims to bring together professionals from different fields, living in the same city.It wishes to make easier to meet people with different skills, to exchange professionalopinions in an informal and pleasant way.
If a designer needs an engineering advice for a project, why not to invite an engineer outfor lunch? And at the same time to have an agreeable and constructive conversation? It isan ideal length of time, that all professionals have generally free.
It is possible to define search parameters to select people for a meeting, such as theprofessional profile, and to set the own time and area of availability. This App is strictlyprofessional and is related to Linkedin profile. The users can finally rate each otherthrough feedbacks.
