Words or Phrases that show deeper meaning with images.

By: Elishah

1. “I wandered lonely as a cloud”

I think this phrase is a simile because uses the word as and its comparing being lonely and a cloud.I picked this picture because the person in the picture is alone and curled up as if he has no one to depend on and the picture it’s self has a dark tone to it. That is what I was thinking when they said lonely as a cloud.

2. “Continuous as the stars that shine”

I think this phase is imagery because it gave me the image that’s in the background in my head.

I picked this image because the tunnel looks as if it never ends as the author was saying a bought the stars in the poem how they shine continuously or forever.

3. “Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.”

I picked this phase because it gave me an image in my head of happiness and joy.

I picked this picture because it looks as if the person in this photo is jumping for joy or happy.

4. “Sparkling waves in glee”

I think this phase is also an imagery because the key word sparkling.

I picked this picture because its sparking waves and to me it looks like it could inspire or make come people happy if they saw it.

5. In vacant or in pensive mood

I think that this phase is an hyperbole because pensive means being sad and vacant meaning without an occupant or incumbent.I picked this picture because that is the image I got when I read the phase and it tells me that the person is sad and which is the definition of vacant and pensive together.
