The Library’s 6th grade Book Club for February was a hit with students — Ethan Harrison, Ella Kostner, Nick McNulty , Katie Brunberg, Brennan Shafer & Josie Crosby. The students picked their book The Boy on the Wooden Box by Leon Leyson. This memoir of the youngest Jewish person saved by Oskar Schindler was moving and thought provoking. The Library is currently making plans to run not just one, but two 6th grade book clubs starting March 8th. We are excited to support these students in their reading journey.
7th-12th Laker School News 3/4/2021
Students of the Week
Logan Yoss, Our High School Laker of the Week is Sophomore Logan Yoss. Logan is the son of Ronald and Trisha Yoss. Mrs. Ritchey said, “He is kind and soft spoken (at least for me!), willing to help out in any way he can, and
has made me, as a new teacher, feel very welcome here. And he's always rocking the cowboy boots!” Mr. Russell thinks very highly of Logan. He said, “Perseverance is a key character trait that I see in Logan. I also appreciate his effort to communicate and receive feedback. He advocates well not only for himself but also for others and offers encouragement to his peers.”
Sara Ciesielski, Our Middle School Laker of the Week is 8th grader Sara Ciesielski. Sara is the daughter of Matt and Jen Ciesielski. Sara is an absolute pleasure to have in class, always
striving to be her best and has a passion for learning!! Definitely well-deserved student of the month!! -Julie I observe Sara C to be driven to succeed. She is organized and prepared. She sets goals and then makes a plan to reach them
