Dilation Task Cards

with and without QR codes

Dilation Task Cards with and without QR codes

• There are ten cards. Topics covered:• Identifying translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations• Graphing dilations in the coordinate plane• Finding scale factor and coordinates from given information• Proving triangle similarity

• I usually print the task cards on card stock and put each in a plastic sleeve so I can reuse each year. This also makes it less likely that students will write on the cards.

• There are two sets of cards included: With QR codes (with answers) and without QR codes.

• I prefer to use the QR codes. This allows students to self-assess by using a QR code reading app on their smartphone. There are many free QR code reader apps available.

• Suggested uses:– Make a single set and hang them around the room. Students move from station to station.– Make a set for each student.– I prefer to divide my class into 6 groups of 4 and make one set for each group.

All diagrams created using geogebraQR codes generated via http://goqr.me/
