Dali in Haifa

The series of works dedicated to Israel and Judaism in general.

The Dali Exhibition took place in Haifa for only two weeks, from 22 March to 6 April .

There were over 500 original pieces of Dali’s works on display, beginning with

some of his earliest works (the earliest is

from 1915), up until the 1980s.

The Ten Commandments

According to the Bible, God inscribed the Ten

Commandments into stone: "God said to

Moses, 'Come up to Me, to the mountain, and

remain there. I will give you the stone tablets, the

Torah and the commandment that I have written for [the people's]

instruction.'" (Exodus 24:12

Dali recreated the Michelangelo Moses and has rays

emanating for divine power, inspiration and wisdom.

The Twelve Tribes

The Twelve Tribes (12) of Israel suite by Salvador Dali consists of 13 etchings.

Salvador Dalí created the Twelve Tribes of Israel portfolio during 1972 and published it in 1973 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel. These hand-signed etchings depict the Biblical tribes founded by the twelve sons of Jacob as the tribal fathers of the Hebrew people.

In 1968, Dali published 25 colored lithographs. These were to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of

the State of Israel .In the exhibition in Haifa there were some of these lithographs.
