The THERMOMASS® Building System is an

insulated concrete sandwich wall system

featuring a fully tested, pre-engineered design.

The two component system consists of fiber

composite connectors and pre-formed

STYROFOAM* brand insulation allowing for a

fast, error-free installation.

A THERMOMASS® structure is quiet, safe and

maintenance free. It is also earthquake,

hurricane, tornado and fire resistant. Heating

and cooling costs are greatly reduced since over

99 % of the insulation value is maintained.

A THERMOMASS® building can be erected in

days instead of weeks and it allows for easy

integration of complex designs and unique

aesthetics. THERMOMASS® insulated concrete

panels are the proven solution to long-lasting,

energy-efficient and appealing concrete

construction. It may be used in tilt-up, precast,

prestressed, modular precast and vertical pour

concrete applications.

What is Thermomass®?

The proprietary extrusion process and polystyrene

resin used to produce STYROFOAM* brand

insulation creates a closed cell structure. Since

there are no gaps or voids between the cells,

the rigid boards are highly resistant to moisture.

In addition to its high thermal resistance and

high compressive strength, STYROFOAM* brand

insulation meets environmental standards and is

recyclable where local programs and facilities exist.

System Components

Fiber Composite Connectors

F Made from a resilient composite matrix,

the THERMOMASS® fiber composite connector

possesses remarkable strength and durability.

These connectors are vastly superior to steel rods in

concrete sandwich panels. They are non-corrosive,

chemically resistant and possess low thermal

conductivity eliminating “thermal short circuits”.

Construction Systems Marketing will consistently provide outstanding customersatisfaction by conveniently delivering products and services that are valued for

features, quality and price. Our distributors and agents in the territory will listento our customers and use their insights to make continuous improvements.

Tilt-Up

Many benefits are achieved withtilt-up construction. By using the

floor slab as the primary castingsurface, the panels are produced onsite eliminating transportation costs.Once cured, these panels are lifted intoplace forming the building envelope. The high strength THERMOMASS®

connectors hold the layers secureduring the entire process.

The exterior layer of concrete

is placed and leveled.

Insulation is placed over un-hardened

concrete. THERMOMASS® fiber composite

connectors are then inserted

through pre-formed holes.

After placing lifting devices, bracing

inserts and required reinforcement,

the structural wythe is placed.

The cured panels are lifted into position

and temporarily braced.

Precast /Prestressed

Precast THERMOMASS® concretesandwich wall panels are produced

to specification in a quality controlledfactory environment and are thenshipped to the construction location.Contractors can choose from a varietyof panel designs including:prestressed, hollow core, double-tee,inverted waffle and architecturalprecast.

After placing the first wythe of concrete,

STYROFOAM* brand insulation is placed

immediately after the concrete is leveled.

THERMOMASS® connectors are then

inserted through holes pre-formed in the

insulation.

Finished precast panel is then delivered to

the job site.

After the second layer of concrete is

placed and the panel has cured, it is

stacked for delivery to the job site.

Modular Precast

Modular precast constructionprovides the opportunity to

construct an entire facility, room byroom, in a quality-controlledenvironment. Rooms can then beerected at a given site. A continuous,fire-proof enclosure, free ofconstruction joints and extremelysecure, typifies the modular precastbuilding.

Poured-In-Place

Utilizing THERMOMASS® poured-in-place technology allows for the

rapid construction of highly energy-efficient, load bearing, insulatedconcrete walls. Fiber compositeconnectors and STYROFOAM*insulation eliminate thermal bridgestypically found in otherpoured-in-place insulated wallconstruction methods.

The reinforcing skeleton for the produc-

tion of a modular unit is assembled and

lowered into the mold by roof crane.

The exterior forms are hand-set. Any type of

forming system may be used.

After placing the THERMOMASS® Building

System between the form-ties, the interior

forms are set and braced.

Concrete is poured over the insulation

delivering equal amounts to both wythes.

THERMOMASS® is placed in the precast

mold with connectors spaced at 12”

on center.

The walls have been cast and the roof

of the module is being poured.

Finished modular units are then ready to

be shipped.

The THERMOMASS® Building System is

prepared by inserting fiber composite

connectors through pre-formed insulation

which is held in place with snaplocks.
