What is RFMSS?

• Range Facility Management Support System • Scheduling program developed for DOD• Tracks usage and de-conflicts scheduling

– Military, Federal, State and local law enforcement • Justifies facility maintenance and upgrade

– Tells NGB how much we use the facilities; our budget is based on that usage

• Before web-based: limited number of personnel use RFMSS

• Today: Program being pushed to the each unit

Can’t I just talk to Range Control?

• Range Control personnel always available• Units have ability to request ranges on-demand• Units can de-conflict their own schedules more

effectively• Decentralizes control over scheduling• Reduces human error when resolving conflicts

with multiple units• Easier and more accurate tracking of facility

usage• Accurately tracking usage brings more $ to UT

Keys to Scheduling

• Do your homework.– Check interactive map: know your ranges / facilities– Check availability on Range Bulletin, Review Requests, and 2-

week calendar– Resolve scheduling conflicts if possible– Check safety conflicts

• Accurately input unit information• Accurately input request information: facility, times,

dates, and use the memo field• Standard or non-standard request• Communicate and deconflict• Co-use agreements• Range control can’t read your mind

View a Range Bulletin/Schedule

-Leave the RC ID as “All RC”

-Find your unit in the pull down menu then click on “Display Bulletin”

Select the right search range for the dates and times of events

-Double check start date/time and end date/time

-Enter total # of persons attending training

-Click on “Communication” tab when finished

-For de-confliction or general issues select “memo”

-For additional coordination i.e. special range requirements select “special instructions”

-For non-standard events use “unit activity”

Review communications, then click on “Vehicle” tab

RFMSS schedulers will reply to your traffic as required. See “Review Requests” to view any responses.

1. Click on “Two Week Calendar”

2. Select start of 2-week period.

3. Select “Range ID”.

4. Select “Facility Group”, never “Event”.

Range ID:

-Fire Desk = live-fire ranges, training areas, and simulators.

-Operations = LRC, Rappel twr, Bays, classrooms, and mess halls.

-Disregard STRENGTH and Air Space

5. Click on “Get Two Week Calendar”.
