“COME AND SEE”
On Dec. 10, a global wave of prayer began on the Pacific island of Samoa. It worked its way around the world through each time zone as people paused from their daily routines to pray for an end to world hunger. This prayer continued until it reached the island again some 24 hours and 164 countries later. Bishop LeVoir has asked that this same prayer work its way through the diocese and that we continue to pray for an end to world hunger.
Campaign Prayer O God, you entrusted to us the fruits of all creation so that we might care for the earth and be nourished with its bounty.
You sent us your Son to share our very flesh and blood and to teach us your Law of Love. Through His death and resurrection, we have been formed into one human family.
Jesus showed great concern for those who had no food – even transforming five loaves and two fish into a banquet that served five thousand and many more.
We come before you, O God, conscious of our faults and failures, but full of hope, to share food with all members in this global family.
Through your wisdom, inspire leaders of government and of business, as well as all the world’s citizens, to find just, and charitable solutions to end hunger by assuring that all people enjoy the right to food.
Thus we pray, O God, that when we present ourselves for Divine Judgment, we can proclaim ourselves as “One Human Family” with “Food for All”.
AMEN. www.caritas.org

Area Faith Community Pictorial Directory The Blessed John Paul II Area Faith Community will be compiling a 2014 parish family pictorial directory with Lifetouch. The directory will have separate sections for each parish. It may be more convenient to be photographed in your home parish, however, you can be photographed at any parish and still appear in the proper section. The Holy Family and St. Pius X studios will be handicap accessible. There is no cost to be photographed and every participating family will receive a complimentary 8x10 portrait and a free directory.
Sign up for Photo Sessions On-line There is now, or shortly will be, a Lifetouch icon on each parish’s website. Click on the icon and follow the on-screen instructions to schedule your photo session. The full list of dates for photo sessions is listed below. Lifetouch opens the dates a week or two at a time in hopes of filling the weeks, and as the schedule fills up, Lifetouch will open more dates. In later bulletins there will be more information about our directory. We wanted you to have the opportunity over Christmas to talk to your family and schedule a session. There will be sign-up sessions after Masses in each parish for those who do not wish to schedule on-line.
