user friendly.”– “I think the staff will enjoy the new look and feel

and that in turn will increase productivity.”– “Easier end-user interactivity. Intuitive

navigation and data entry.”

Banner’s Extreme Makeover

• What’s different from 6.x to 7.x?

New Screen Resolution

• More space => Less scrolling

By using more of the screen, forms require less scrolling in Banner 7.0.

Navigational Enhancements

• There are more options for moving around in Banner 7.0, including function keys, right-clicking with your mouse and more.

Main Menu Changes

• The “Go” box changed to “Go To”; you can now use the Up and Down Arrow keys to scroll through recently used forms

• Now you can use the F5 key to navigate to a different form (Alternative to Direct Access)

• All icons visible in the Main menu

Tabs, Tabs, Tabs…

• Some Banner forms now have a tabbed interface rather than the traditional Banner window appearance. Tabs are used to arrange information in a meaningful way and allow you to navigate easily between groups or blocks.

Navigating to the Next Block

• Now you can use any of the following to navigate within tabbed forms:– Ctrl-TAB (forward) and Ctrl-Shift-TAB

(backward) to move through the tabs on a form– Ctrl – Page Down (forward) and Ctrl- Page Up

(backward) through tabs (same as Banner 6)– F2 (the List Tab Pages key) displays a list of

other tabbed windows on the form. Use the mouse or the Up and Down arrow keys to select a different TAB, and the Enter key to select that tab

Accessing Options

• To access Options you can:– Press F5– Right-click anywhere on the form– Use the Options Pull down menu
