Design, Build and Maintenance Services

• Offered to customers requiring high-voltage primary electric service

– Typically large industrial customers – Customer responsible for step down of service, in

return receives a better rate – They can contract with AEP for design, build and

maintenance services of their electrical facilities so they can focus on their core business and benefit from our expertise

• Services include: – Substation construction and maintenance – Equipment procurement, testing and repair – Power quality troubleshooting and remediation

• Example project: MarkWest Natural Gas Processing Plant – MarkWest contracted AEP to build its 60MW substation with three 20MW

transformers to be served from a 138 kV transmission line – AEP will also do substation maintenance
