Announcing the 1st annual Kirk Soup Competition (for men), today, Mar 20, during our Fun Auction. The winner will receive the ‘coveted’ Vicar’s Ladle Trophy. Contact the minister to register. Esteemed judges will decide the best soups of the day, and the soups will then be served for lunch. Thank you to Ian MacDonald for creating our trophy.

‘We’re’ richer than you think, to partially quote a Halifax made institution. This year we are inviting you to rise to the challenge of putting Fort Massey on ‘solid ground ~ holy ground’. A review of your commitment may surprise you! Please contact our Chief Steward, Ruth MacKenzie at raem@ns.sympatico.ca, or 902.477.5365 if you have questions about weekly envelopes or the advantages of PAR.

Easter Offering Envelope. Please note the Easter offering envelope in your bulletin today. Four times a year (Easter, Thanksgiving, Anniversary & Christmas) congregations are encouraged to give an “extra” offering, to express gratitude for our many blessings at these special times of the year.

“If you should have any unused/unwanted church donation envelopes, the senior steward would be delighted to receive them so she can recycle them and turn them into pew envelopes for visitors! They can be left in the box on the chair outside the ‘Count’ room just across from the kitchen.” – Ruth MacKenzie

A major national campaign was launched in response to the recent Supreme Court of Canada ruling in favour of physician-assisted death. The Vulnerable Persons Standard is a set of evidence-based safeguards designed to help ensure that Canadians requesting assistance from physicians to end their life can do so without jeopardizing the lives of vulnerable persons who may be subject to coercion and/or abuse. If you are interested, you can view/download the Standard and learn more at http://www.vps-npv.ca and perhaps consider signing on to endorse the Standard.
