IDEA Learning Programme 2011-2012

3rd year of Trócaire-funded learning programme for members

Long-term learning programme with 1 week visit (end-March)

Focus on learning from Global South Group learning- 12-15 participants

To explore and clarify the link between advocacy and development education

To build our skills as development educators, using advocacy with learners

To build our skills as advocates of DE

As a result of this programme participants will be able to:

Articulate their own critical understanding of the link between development education and advocacy

Understand and implement advocacy work

Understand the theory and practice of popular education and be able to compare it to development education

Work with learners to empower them to engage in a range of actions (including advocacy) as part of the development education experience
