Free tools such as Piktochart, infogr.am and visual.ly are excellent if:

Need inspiration

2. Set Objectives

What do I want to achieve?

How am I going to achieve my goal(s)?

Do I have the necessary resources? E.g. time / images

3. The Power of a Headline

Interesting

Descriptive (sub-heading)

Clear opportunity for reader to Learn

Doesn’t use interesting words

No clear sub-heading

Not clear what the reader might Learn

Excellent

4. Visual Appeal

• Colour coding (Red being the most prominent)

• Colours contrast – work well together

• Use of graphics• Use of reference

Poor

• Colour coding is only used in the text, and not to guide the reader to the next stage

• Colours do not contrast – blend into one another

• No graphics• No reference

5. Be Original

Have excellent content that is above the competition!

6. Save As

Always Save As a PNG file for highest image quality
