Planting System: Planted “en vaso” with 2.5 metre spacing. Areas of production: From the Denominación “Calatayud”, specifically the villages of Acered, Alarba and Castejón de Alarba, from vines of between 70 and 100 years old, and from mountainside slate vineyards, between 700 and 1,000 metres altitude. These slate and quartzites vineyards give the wine a pronounced minerality and structure. Yields were limited to a maximum of 2,500 kilos per hectare (1 ton per acre). Vinification: The grapes were harvested by hand, as soon as they reached optimum maturity in each parcel. They were collected, and transported to the winery in small cases, before being selected by hand on a selection table. Fermentation temperatures were between 25º and 28ºC, to preserve the character of the fruit. After 20 days, the wine was transferred in new French oak barrels of between 225 and 500 litres, to complete its Malolactic fermentation, and for 11 months ageing. Tasting Notes: Colour is deep cherry-red, with a bright rim. On the nose, clove, black fruit and toasted coffee can be found, followed by soft cherry and ripe fruit aromas. Also vanilla and butterscotch from the oak, blend with the herbs and floral aromas of the Garnacha. The palate is very soft, full-bodied and powerful, with a long, balanced and nice aftertaste. Presentation: Borgogne. Heavyweight bottle, packed in cases of 6 or 12. Gastronomy: Ideal accompaniment for cured ham, stews, game and meat dishes. ALTO LAS PIZARRAS del Jalón Variety: 100% old vine Garnacha, from our own vineyards.

Planting System: Planted “en vaso” with 2.5 metre spacing.

Areas of production: From the Denominación “Calatayud”, specifically the villages of Acered, Alarba and Castejón de Alarba, from vines of between 70 and 100 years old, and from mountainside slate vineyards, between 700 and 1,000 metres altitude. These slate and quartzites vineyards give the wine a pronounced minerality and structure. Yields were limited to a maximum of 2,500 kilos per hectare (1 ton per acre).

Vinification: The grapes were harvested by hand, as soon as they reached optimum maturity in each parcel. They were collected, and transported to the winery in small cases, before being selected by hand on a selection table. Fermentation temperatures were between 25º and 28ºC, to preserve the character of the fruit. After 20 days, the wine was transferred in new French oak barrels of between 225 and 500 litres, to complete its Malolactic fermentation, and for 11 months ageing.

Tasting Notes: Colour is deep cherry-red, with a bright rim. On the nose, clove, black fruit and toasted coffee can be found, followed by soft cherry and ripe fruit aromas. Also vanilla and butterscotch from the oak, blend with the herbs and floral aromas of the Garnacha. The palate is very soft, full-bodied and powerful, with a long, balanced and nice aftertaste.

Presentation: Borgogne. Heavyweight bottle, packed in cases of 6 or 12.

Gastronomy: Ideal accompaniment for cured ham, stews, game and meat dishes.

Service: Serve at a temperature between 16 º and 18 ºC.

Claraval Grape Varieties: 70% Old Vine Garnacha, 15% Tempranillo, 10% Syrah, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from our own vineyards.

Areas of Production: Originating from our own vineyards within the “Calatayud” Denominación de Origen, at altitudes between 700 and 1000 metres, from the communes of Acered y Castejón de Alarba. The bush-vine Garnacha is an average 60 years old, and limited to 2,500 kilos per hectare, planted on mountainside vineyards of slate and quartzite, giving the wine its mineral notes.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes takes place in the vineyard. They are handpicked at the optimum moment for each parcel of vines. The Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah were picked during the first week of October and the Old Vine Garnacha during the following week. The varieties were vinified separately. They were each fermented between 25º and 28ºC and left on their lees for up to twenty days.

Tasting Notes: Colour deep cherry-red with hints of violet. Intense on the nose, with aromas of mature, ripe dark fruits, blackcurrent and prunes. The nose is complex, with minerality and floral notes. The palate is tasty, with sweet tannins, full-bodied, soft and structured, with a good aftertaste.

Presentation: Bordeaux Bottle. Antigua Ultra-Violet resistant bottle of 0,75 L. Packed in 6 or 12 bottle cases.

Gastronomy: Perfect for a wide range of food matches including cured ham, meats, game and stews.

Service: Serve at a temperature between 16 º and 18 ºC.

Castillo de Maluenda - Blanco Selección.

Grape Varieties: 100% Macabeo from our own vineyards.

Areas of Production: From the Calatayud Denominación de Origen, at an average altitude of 800 metres, from the villages of Acered and Alarba.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes took place in the vineyard. The grapes were picked, during the first two weeks of October, and, after pressing, were cold macerated during 6 hours and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at 15ºC.

Tasting Notes: The colour is gold, a little pale and very shiny.

Very intense in the nose, exhibiting lots of fruit such as tree fruits, apricot and green apple, mixed with spices and vanilla. It’s complex and it opens slowly giving a nice touch of flowers, geranium and honey.

The palate is fresh, tasty and very pleasant, mild and balanced. It leaves a phenolic, long and lingering aftertaste.

Presentation: Bordeaux bottle. Elite Blanca bottle of 0.75L. Packed in 12 bottle cases.

Gastronomy: Perfect for a wide range of food matches including cold and warm starters, rice, pasta or fish dishes.

Service: Serve chilled.

Castillo de Maluenda - Crianza. Grape Varieties: 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Garnacha and 30% Tempranillo, from our own vineyards. Yields are restricted to 3,000 kilos per hectare for the Garnacha, and 5,000 kilos per hectare for the other two varieties.

Areas of Production: Originating from our own vineyards within the “Calatayud” Denominación de Origen, at an average altitude of 850 metres, the grapes were grown in the communes of Acered, Morata de Jiloca, Paracuellos de Jiloca, Montón and Velilla de Jiloca.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes takes place in the vineyard. They are handpicked at the optimum moment for each parcel of vines. The Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon were picked during the last week of September and the Garnacha during the first two weeks of October. After crushing, the grapes were transferred into stainless steel tanks, where they underwent a fermentation of 14 days, at a temperature of 28ºC. The varieties were vinified separately and blended following the completion of the malolactic fermentation. After blending, the new wine was transferred into American oak barrels and then in bottles, before release onto the market 24 months later.

Tasting Notes: The colour is an ruby-red, with tones of russet. The nose combines liquorice, red ripe fruit with notes of vanilla and roasted coffee. The palate is structured, full-bodied and rich with liquorice balancing the vanilla flavours from the barrels. Long and tasty aftertaste.

Presentation: Bordeaux Bottle. Elite UV resistant bottle of 0,75 L. Packed in 6 or 12 bottle cases.

Castillo de Maluenda - Reserva

Grape Varieties: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Tempranillo and 10% Garnacha from our own vineyards. Average yields were 5,000 kilos per hectare for the Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3,000 kilos per hectare for the Garnacha.

Areas of Production: Originating from our own vineyards within the “Calatayud” Denominación de Origen, at an average altitude of 850 metres, the grapes are grown in the communes of Acered, Morata de Jiloca, Paracuellos de Jiloca, Montón and Velilla de Jiloca.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes takes place in the vineyard. They are handpicked at the optimum moment for each parcel of vines. In 2003, the Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon were picked during the last week of September, and the Garnacha during the first two weeks of October. The three varieties were vinified separately.

After crushing, the grapes were transferred into stainless steel tanks, where they underwent a fermentation of 14 days, at a temperature of 28ºC. After completing the malolactic fermentation, the new wine stays in American oak barrels and in bottle, for 36 months prior to being released.

Tasting Notes: The colour is red with brick-red shades. The nose combines dark, ripe fruit, liquorice, dried fruits, coffee, spices and vanilla. The palate is structured, reminding clove and forest fruit, well integrated with cocoa and coffee notes from the oak

Castillo de Maluenda - Rosado Selección.

Grape Varieties: 100% Garnacha from our own vineyards.

Areas of Production: From the Calatayud Denominación de Origen, at an average altitude of 800 metres, from the villages of Morata de Jiloca and Alarba.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes took place in the vineyard. The grapes were hand-picked in the optimum ripening moment, during the first two weeks of October. After crushing and poured into vats, came the saignée of the juices, the settling and the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 15ºC.

Tasting Notes: The colour is an intense strawberry pink, clean and bright. Intense on the nose, combining floral notes, such as roses and orange blossom, with aromas of blackberry and raspberry. It’’s complex and, aftermoving the glass, fruity aromas with hints of spices show up. Fresh and nice on the palate, mild and with a long and nice finish.

Presentation: : Bordeaux bottle. Elite Blanca bottle of 0.75L. Packed in 12 bottle cases.

Castillo de Maluenda - Tinto Selección.

Grape Varieties: 60% Tempranillo and 40% Syrah, from our own vineyards.

Areas of Production: From the Calatayud Denominación de Origen, at an average altitude of 850 metres, from the villages of Olvés, Acered, Montón and Alarba.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes took place in the vineyard. The grapes were picked, during the last week of September and the first two weeks of October, and, after crushing, were fermented in stainless steel tanks at 22ºC. The two varieties were vinified separately, before being blended following malolactic fermentation.

Tasting Notes: Cherry-red colour, clean and bright. On the nose is intense, with fruity aromas such as apple or peaches and tropical fruits, such as melon or banana. It’s a complex wine and, after moving the glass, spicy aromas start to show up. The palate is fresh, tasty and full-bodied, leaving a good aftertaste. It’s a balanced wine.

Presentation: Bordeaux bottle. Elite UV resistant bottle of 0.75L. Packed in 12 bottle cases.

Gastronomy: Perfect for a wide range of food matches including pasta dishes, vegetables and roasted lamb.

Service: Serve at a temperature between 18ºC & 20ºC.

Fabla Garnacha Viñas Viejas Sel. Especial. Grape Varieties: 100% Old Vine Garnacha from our own goblet-trained vineyards of at least 60 years old. Production is under 2,500 Kg per Hectare (1 ton per acre).

Areas of Production: From the Calatayud Denominación de Origen, at altitudes of between 680 & 1,050 metres, from the villages of Acered, Alarba and Castejón de Alarba. The mountainside vineyards, on soils of slate and quartzite, produce wines with a distinctive mineral quality.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes took place in the vineyard, from of at least 40 years old and selected areas. The ripening is strictly controlled in a weekly basis is order to get the optimum ripening point, normally happening during the second week of October. The grapes were hand-picked, and after further selection in the winery, were crushed and after vatted in 5000-10000 liter tanks. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature of 22ºC. It’s kept in French oak barrels during 4 months before bottling.

Tasting Notes: High layer of cherry-red color. Bright, intense on the nose, resembling ripe fruit, strawberry jam, and prunes. It’s a complex and mineral wine, which opens after moving the glass, reminding its fruitiness and some aromas resultant of the conduction of its fermentation like balsamic and honey. Full-bodied and gentle in mouth, it turns out to be a tasty wine with a long finish and notes of liquorice and clove. Well balanced, it leaves a long and nice memory in its aftertaste. Presentation: Burgundy bottle. Packed in 6 or 12 bottle cases.

Gastronomy: Ideal accompaniment for roast meats, stews and strong cheeses.

Service: Serve at 18ºC.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes took place in the vineyard. The grapes were picked, during the first two weeks of October, and, after pressing, were cold macerated during 6 hours and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at 15ºC.

Tasting Notes: The colour is gold, a little pale and very shiny.

Very intense in the nose, exhibiting lots of fruit such as tree fruits, apricot and green apple, mixed with spices and vanilla. It’s complex and it opens slowly giving a nice touch of flowers, geranium and honey.

The palate is fresh, tasty and very pleasant, mild and balanced. It leaves a phenolic, long and lingering aftertaste.

Navitum - Crianza.

Grape Varieties: 70% Tempranillo and 30% Garnacha from our own vineyards.

Areas of Production: Originating from our own vineyards within the “Calatayud” Denominación de Origen, at altitudes between 640 and 900 metres (2100 and 3000 feet). The grapes were grown in the communes of Morata de Jiloca, Paracuellos de Jiloca, Fuentes de Jiloca, Montón and Velilla de Jiloca.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes takes place in the vineyard. They are handpicked at the optimum moment for each parcel of vines. The Tempranillo was picked during the last week of September and the first week of October, and the Garnacha the following week.

After crushing, the grapes were transferred into stainless steel tanks, where they underwent a fermentation of 10 days, at a temperature of 28ºC. The two varieties were vinified separately and blended following the completion of the malolactic fermentation. After blending, the new wine was transferred into American oak barrels for one year, and aged in bottle for a further 12 months.

Tasting Notes: The colour is a deep red, with tones of violet and terracotta at the rim. The nose combines red fruits and spices with notes of vanilla. The palate is structured with red fruits and oak to the fore.

Presentation: Bordeaux Bottle Ligera, Green Ultra-Violet resistant bottle of 0,75 L. Packed in 6 or 12 bottle cases.

Areas of Production: Originating from our own vineyards within the “Calatayud” Denominación de Origen, at altitudes between 640 and 900 metres (2100 and 3000 feet). The grapes were grown in the communes of Velilla de Jiloca, Paracuellos de Jiloca, Montón, Velilla de Jiloca and Maluenda.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes takes place in the vineyard. They are handpicked at the optimum moment for each parcel of vines. The three varieties were picked during the first two weeks of October. After crushing, the grapes were transferred into stainless steel tanks, where they underwent a fermentation of 14 days, at a temperature of 28ºC. The two varieties were vinified separately and blended following the completion of the malolactic fermentation. After blending, the new wine was transferred into American oak barrels for a minimum of one year., and aged in bottle for a further 24 months.

Tasting Notes: The colour is a ruby red, with tones of violet and terracotta at the rim. The nose combines red fruits and spices with notes of vanilla. The palate is structured with red fruits and oak to the fore.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes took place in the vineyard. The grapes were hand-picked in the optimum ripening moment, during the first two weeks of October. After crushing and poured into vats, came the saignée of the juices, the settling and the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 15ºC.

Tasting Notes: The colour is an intense strawberry pink, clean and bright. Intense on the nose, combining floral notes, such as roses and orange blossom, with aromas of blackberry and raspberry. It’’s complex and, aftermoving the glass, fruity aromas with hints of spices show up. Fresh and nice on the palate, mild and with a long and nice finish.

Tasting Notes: Cherry-red colour, clean and bright. On the nose is intense, with fruity aromas such as apple or peaches and tropical fruits, such as melon or banana. It’s a complex wine and, after moving the glass, spicy aromas start to show up. The palate is fresh, tasty and full-bodied, leaving a good aftertaste. It’s a balanced wine.

Punto y Coma Garnacha Viñas Viejas Grape Varieties: 100% Old Vine Garnacha from our own goblet-trained vineyards of at least 60 years old. Production is under 2,500 Kg per Hectare (1 ton per acre).

Areas of Production: From the Calatayud Denominación de Origen, at altitudes of between 680 & 1,050 metres, from the villages of Acered, Alarba and Castejón de Alarba. The mountainside vineyards, on soils of slate and quartzite, produce wines with a distinctive mineral quality.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes took place in the vineyard, from of at least 40 years old and selected areas. The ripening is strictly controlled in a weekly basis is order to get the optimum ripening point, normally happening during the second week of October. The grapes were hand-picked, and after further selection in the winery, were crushed and after vatted in 5000-10000 liter tanks. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature of 22ºC. It’s kept in French oak barrels before bottling.

Tasting Notes: High layer of cherry-red color. Bright, intense on the nose, resembling ripe fruit, strawberry jam, and prunes. It’s a complex and mineral wine, which opens after moving the glass, reminding its fruitiness and some aromas resultant of the conduction of its fermentation like balsamic and honey. Full-bodied and gentle in mouth, it turns out to be a tasty wine with a long finish and notes of liquorice and clove. Well balanced, it leaves a long and nice memory in its aftertaste. Presentation: Burgundy bottle. Packed in 6 or 12 bottle cases.

Gastronomy: Ideal accompaniment for roast meats, stews and strong cheeses.

Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at 22ºC during 20-30 days. After separating the free-run juice and the pressings, the malolactic fermentation happens in underground concrete tanks. Finally, the wine is transferred into French oak barrels for a stay of 9 months, before being bottled.

Tasting Notes: High layer of cherry red colour. Very intense, showing ripe fruit, berries, vanilla and spices. It has a complex nose, where cocoas and raspberry appear. It’s a full-bodied wine, fresh and smooth on the palate, with well integrated tannins and a long and spicy aftertaste.

Viña Alarba Pago San Miguel. Grape Varieties: 60% Old Vine Garnacha and 40% Syrah from our own vineyards. Production is limited to 2,500 Kg per Hectare

Areas of Production: Originating from our own vineyards within the “Calatayud” Denominación de Origen, at altitudes between 700 and 1000 metres, from the communes of Acered y Castejón de Alarba. The bush-vine Garnacha is an average 60 years old, planted on mountainside vineyards of slate and quartzite, giving the wine its mineral notes.

Winemaking: The first selection of grapes takes place in the vineyard. They are handpicked at the optimum moment for each parcel of vines. The Syrah was picked during the first week of October and the Garnacha during the following week. The two varieties were vinified separately. They were each fermented between 25º and 28ºC and left on their lees for twenty days. After blending, the wine was transferred into new French oak barrels for six months maturation.

Tasting Notes: Colour deep cherry-red with hints of violet. Aromas of mature, ripe dark fruits, blackcurrent, plums and medlar. The nose is lifted by sweet spices, liquorice, clove, balsam and minerals. Also coffee and cocoa from our Garnacha. The palate has structure, with sweet tannins and a rich meaty texture. Long and nice aftertaste.

Viña Alarba Volcán.

Grape Varieties: 100% Tempranillo from our own oldest vineyards.

Areas of Production: From the Calatayud Denominación de Origen, at altitudes of between 700 & 1,150 metres. The mountainside vineyards have their roots strong fixed to the soil, thanks to the slate and volcanic rocks. Production is under 4000 Kg per Hectare and conditions for ripening are exceptional.

Vinificación: The first selection of grapes took place in the vineyard. The grapes were hand-picked, in 10 Kg. boxes, undergoing then a second selection in table. Complete clusters are used in the vatting, according to the traditional winemaking of carbonic maceration, with controlled temperature of 24º C.

Tasting Notes: The colour is cherry red with violet tones. Brilliant appearance and appropriated leg. Very intense on the nose with red fruits, blackberry and raspberry. It’s complex, lactic aromas, spices and bushes standing out. On the palate has a good start, soft and sweet, full bodied. Is structured and with long and elegant aftertaste.

Presentation: Kendo green UV resistant bottle of 0.75L. Packed in 6 bottle cases.

PUNTO Y SEGUIDO Garnacha Viñas Viejas Variety: 100% old vine Garnacha, from our own vineyards.

Planting System: Planted “en vaso” with 2.5 metre spacing.

Areas of production: From the Denominación “Calatayud”, specifically the villages of Acered, Alarba and Castejón de Alarba, from vines of between 70 and 100 years old, and from mountainside slate vineyards, between 700 and 1,000 metres altitude. These slate and quartzites vineyards give the wine a pronounced minerality and structure. Yields were limited to a maximum of 2,500 kilos per hectare (1 ton per acre).

Vinification: The grapes were harvested by hand, as soon as they reached optimum maturity in each parcel. They were collected, and transported to the winery in small cases, before being selected by hand on a selection table. Individual parcels were cold-soaked for 4 days, prior to fermentation. Fermentation temperatures were between 25º and 28ºC, to preserve the character of the fruit. Malolactic fermentation was allowed to proceed naturally.

Tasting Notes: Colour is deep cherry-red, with a bright rim. The nose is very floral (particularly violets and orange blossom), spiced and grassy. On the palate there’s a good taste of ripe cherry, is full-bodied, with balanced tannins and a nice aftertaste.

Presentation: Burgundy bottle. Packed in 6 or 12 bottle cases.

Gastronomy: Ideal accompaniment for cured ham, stews, game and meat dishes.

Service: Serve at a temperature between 16 º and 18 ºC.
