We will be using the McGraw-Hill Algebra 1 Textbook. You need to bring your book with you to class EVERYDAY!

Homework will be posted on the class calendar that can be accessed through the class website. If the homework is not posted you should e-mail the teacher.
•Homework will be given frequently.•Every assignment is worth 10 pts. •Late homework will NOT be accepted.
Homework Policy
Extra HelpIf a student is having trouble they should speak with the teacher as soon as possible. The teacher will work with the student to schedule
time for extra help. Tutoring is available in the library after school
Monday-Thursday until 4:30. A math teacher will be there on Tuesdays and
Thursdays.

Grades
Daily Grades: This includes but is not limited to homework and in class activities. Each day I will ask you if you have any questions over the previous day’s assignment. I will go over problems. Each homework assignment is due at the beginning of the next class meeting unless otherwise stated and will be worth 10 points.
Notebook: Each student will be responsible for keeping a notebook. Students will be given unannounced notebook quizzes. In order to pass the quiz, they must have taken notes.
Quizzes: Expect at least one quiz per chapter. Quizzes will be worth 20-50 points. No retakes.
Tests: Tests will be given at the end of each chapter or at mid-chapter. Tests will be announced at least 3 days in advance. Tests can be retaken only after the student has completed a “Request to Retest” form and completed three activities to help them improve their understanding of the concepts. All retakes must be completed before the next chapter test
Finals: NO EXEMPTIONS!! A final will be given at the end of each semester. Finals will be comprehensive of the semester. Finals are worth 20% of your semester grade.

Hall PassesAt the beginning of each semester, students will be given 6 hall passes. In order to leave the classroom to use the restroom, get a drink, or go to their locker, students must have their calendar and have one of the passes signed by the teacher. At the end of the semester, unused passes will each be worth 10 points of extra credit toward the “Homework” grade.
