Teamwork Through group tasks at all levels of education I have developed skills in teamwork and thus in communication and project management. Whilst at university I developed sound methods in planning tasks cooperatively, prioritising and arranging them in a group.

Communication Carrying out presentations in front of groups of up to 20 people taught me how to communicate confidently in front of groups and how to articulate myself effectively. By working on group projects I learnt how to listen to others and address their questions and issues. I believe effective communication to be the key to progressing forward in any project.

Many units of my degree involved solving mathematical based problems, which I get great satisfaction from solving and arriving at the correct answer. From doing this I am adept at finding logical solutions to complex problems.

Working to tight deadlinesThroughout both college and higher education I have had to meet sometimes tight deadlines, which necessarily required me to be highly organised and which, in turn has directly prepared me for working under time sensitive conditions in the workplace.

Work experience

2013 – 2014 Fidelity (Analyst/Programmer)As part of my degree I carried out a 9 month placement in my third year. This involved programing on their main project (Charles River) and fixing bugs in C#, working on reports and the database in SQL, and running my own project with my manager’s guidance to create applications using the Oracle APEX framework.

Team Work: as a programmer I was involved with colleagues both internal and external to my team to discuss user requirements. Working as part of a team enabled me to further develop my communication skills as effective intercommunication was essential for the team’s success.

Security: ensured that data was safe and secure by using authentication and authorization schemes on Oracle APEX applications.

2010 – Present Delta Force (Senior Paintball Marshal) Health and Safety: an intimate knowledge of health and safety procedures is essential when

controlling large groups of up to 60 people both during games and when briefing them before games.

Customer Service: deliverance of high levels of customer service is an important factor to ensure customers are satisfied with their day, this also reflects well on my whole team.

Team Work: working closely together is crucial to complete the various tasks key to running the Delta Force site at a high efficiency.

2008 – 2012 Compass Hospitality (Waiter/Bartender/Cashier) Cash Handling: I was responsible for cashing up at the end of the day and delivering it to the

office. Customer Service: 5 star customer service was key in this role and any customer complaints

were communicated immediately to my manager in order that they were dealt with efficiently.

Team Work: coordination with my colleagues ensured all tasks were handled effectively and that customer satisfaction was high. Here I built strong foundations in effective team work strategies.

2011 Troys Hospitality, Australia (Waiter/Bartender) Team Work: working in a team comprised of different cultures and varying styles of working

meant coming together cooperatively to handle any issues was imperative.

Hobbies and interests

University Ski and Snowboard SocietyMy passion for snowboarding quickly involved me with the snow sports society at university, in which I had the opportunity to go on several trips abroad, be an active member of the race team competing against other universities around the country, and ultimately show my support for the society by driving the team minibus.

Sky Dive SocietyThis was the perfect opportunity to try an activity that I had always wanted to. So far I’ve done two static jumps as well as a charity bungee jump event in 2013 for breast cancer.

Gap Year Travelling 2010-2011Between College and University, I organised a 4 month solo trip around Australia. I raised money through work and found another job upon arriving in Sydney to continue to gather funds for travelling along the east coast. The experience gifted me with many unforgettable moments and new friends from different cultural backgrounds from all over the world.
