Dear Friends,

On April 17, 2014, Powerbilt and the Charity Golf Association, along with many other sponsors, supporters and our local community, will join forces for Powerbilt’s Air Force One Inaugural Tournament, on the beautiful championship golf course at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California.

We are happy to be supporting three charities for this upcoming tournament: Project Access, Boystown, and Eli Homes.

Project Access is one of California’s leading providers of vital health, education and employment services to families, children and seniors living in low-income housing communities. Their goal is to help keep family members employed, children in school, and seniors active. Project Access envisions that all residents of affordable housing communities have the opportunity to achieve self-sufficiency and maximize their full potential.

Our next benefiting charity is Eli Home. Eli Home is a multi-faceted organization with 3 shelter facilities, a 13,000 square foot thrift store social enterprise, professional counseling and therapy staff, organizational staff, and a history of awards and accolades that include citations from U.S. Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton. Eli Home’s mission is to welcome, shelter, comfort, heal, encourage and strengthen victims of child abuse and neglect, and to prepare them to reenter the community to lead stable, non-violent lives, free from fear and intimidation To Break the Cycle of Child Abuse.

Our third beneficiary is Boystown. Since opening in 1991, Boys Town California has continued to expand its services to meet the needs of troubled children and families. The site has four Family Homes for Adolescents and one Family Home for Young Children on 80 acres in Trabuco Canyon in Orange County. Boys Town California also provides In-Home Family Services and Community Support Services. These program and services touch the lives of 48,000 people in California each year.

These organizations are near and dear to many of us- and yet, struggle to exist and remain true to their core mission. With your help, we can position each of them to thrive and continue to save children and heal families in California. It is our sincere hope that you join us in support of these great causes.

Email us at [email protected] or call at 949.930.3110 for more information. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the fairway!

STRENGTHEN OUR COMMUNITIESThe Charity Golf Association is a Sustainable Giving Organization dedicated to supporting local charities. We use unique golf tournaments to raise funds for community-based non-profit groups that benefit women and children. CGA events reach far beyond the green to engage more than just the 144 players who participate.

MORE CHARITIES, EASIER GIVINGCGA has developed a new fundraising organization structured around the golf industry. We use innovative events, celebrity players, products and services, and social media to create awareness and generate funding for each cause.

HELPING CHARITIES FOCUS ON THEIR MISSIONThe core mission of any non-profit organization is to serve its beneficiaries (in our case, moms and children—the foundation of communities). However, when hosting large fundraising events like golf tournaments and executive functions, small community-based non-profits must stretch precious financial and human resources just to raise $5,000 per event on average (golf tournament national average for non-profits).

We simplify giving for Socially Responsible Corporations by providing a single point of contact that allows busy executives to reach 18 communities (by year 3) and 54 charities. Powerful public relations support and fun are included with every event. Your CGA membership gives you easy access to events and tournaments for your partners, while building positive brand awareness and helping thousands of families.

WHERE DOES THE FUN START?By fostering partnerships among charities, businesses, brands and individuals through our annual charity tour (multiple golf tournaments), the CGA builds an innovative set of events to deliver powerful financial results for community charities. We host turnkey golf tournaments and produce all associated fundraising elements for non-profits without any financial cost to them. CGA creates a program for corporations to sponsor that concurrently works to improve Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) decision-making, leverage partnerships, manage non-profit risk, and measure performance—all in one easy membership.

Join the Charity Golf Association today and enjoy the member benefits while you give to the community.

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMS 2014The Charity Golf Association offers one of the nation’s most innovative, turnkey and corporate social responsibility programs. Partnering charitable organizations with corporations and supporters through the game of golf, the CGA, along with its members, will be able to help raise awareness of women’s and children’s causes, raise funds, and lead local efforts to improve services and programs throughout the nation’s communities.

The Powerbilt Air Force One Inaugural Charity Tournaments has been developed to support corporations and individuals that wish to increase their charitable giving (Corporate Social Responsibility/ CSR) to local family, women’s and children’s charities without spreading themselves to thin.

AIR FORCE ONE CHARITY TOUR Tournament Format

Shotgun Start – All players tee off at the same time. Teams of 4 or 5 (if a celebrity is involved) move to their respective hole and tee off when they arrive.

Shamble – everyone in the foursome hits their drive. The best drive of the 4 is used. The other 3 team members move their ball to that location. From that point forward they play their own ball. The lowest score is marked down on the card. We have live score keepers on every hole, the team captain will give their score to the score keeper who enters it into the live leader board.

Handicapping: Peoria Method - will be used to ensure consistency. This USGA approved system is as follows. Without knowledge of the players, the committee selects 6 random holes (usually 2 par 3’s, 2 par 4’s and 2 par 5’s). Take the total score of those 6 holes and multiple it by 3 (example: 6 holes totaling 30, multiple by 3 = 90). Subtract that number from par (90-72 = 18), 80% of 18 = 14. The player’s gross score of 90 would be a Peoria Net Score of 76. Please note with Peoria, a players max score on a hole is double par. A Par 4 would be a maximum score of 8.
