Welcome to Friends of Golfs 38th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Bel-Air Country Club, one of

the worlds finest golf venues. This years Honoree, Dustin Johnson, is the reigning U.S. Open champion,

the 2016 PGA Tour Player of the Year and became the #1 ranked player in the world following his

win this year at Riviera Country Club. Johnsons U.S. Open victory brings the number of major golf

championships won by FOG Honorees to a startling 119.

With your support today and throughout the year, FOG is able to continue funding golfs future at

multiple levels. Historically, FOG has been a significant benefactor for both high school and collegiate

golf. With over $8 million in donations, FOG has expanded our footprint on the future of the game by

adding our support to youth golf organizations like SCGA Junior, First Tee and SCPGA.

FOG, the only organization to ever receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the NCAAs Golf

Coaches Association of America, continues to play a prominent role in college golf with its involvement

in the Ben Hogan Trophy and Dinah Shore Trophy. This past year, the Ben Hogan Trophy saw Jon

Rahm become the awards first two-time winner while Columbia Universitys Jackie Chulya captured the

Dinah Shore Trophy after being unanimously named 2016 Ivy League Player of the Year.

Several years ago, FOG introduced the Ken Venturi Spirit of Giving Award, named after the legendary

golfer and golf announcer who contributed his name, his energy and his love for the game to FOG and

FOG events over the years. This years winner is Delta Air Lines Bob Somers, a wonderful example of

how to give back to your community. Bob was previously awarded Father of the Year by the American

Diabetes Association and serves on boards for the Foundation for Hospital Art, the Bobby Dodd Coach

of the Year Foundation and the Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl.
