1. Fun Classroom Activities…• Your teacher has a packet full of FUN things for

you to do to prepare for Ag-Citing at the fair.

2. Field Trip Letter and Expectations• Let your family know about the field trip!• Review expectations for the field trip:

o Wear comfy clothes & walking shoes.o Everyone Participates!o Be a good listener.o Stay with your group.

3. Ag-Citing at the Clay County Fair…• ISU Staff & an Ag Ambassador will meet you at the

Ag Learning Center at the fair.• You’ll be given a red Ag-Citing vest to wear during

your adventure.

4. Do Activities & Take a Barn Walkabout…• 3rd Graders learn about: Iowa Grains & Livestock,

Soil Composition, and Biotechnology.• 4th Graders learn about: Biotechnology, Renewable

Energy, and Livestock Technologies• Both Grades tour the fair with an Ag Ambassador.

5. Write Thank You’s & Do Follow-up Activities…• Thank Ag-Citing sponsors like: Monsanto, Clay

County Fair, Clay County Growers, & Farm Bureau.• Thank your principal, teachers, and chaperones.• Do follow-up activities from the teacher packet.
