This address is to explore the future of the African continent within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals as adopted by world leaders in September 2015.

The address would make a projection on the implementation of “the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which includes a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change by 2030” vis-à-vis the transformation of the continent, should the goals be successfully achieved.

Having an integrated approach to supporting progress across the multiple Sustainable Development Goals is crucial to achieving the goals by 2030. Although the onus lies on government to take necessary actions needed to ensure the successful implementation and achievement of the SDGs, other entities including businesses should be strategically placed to support the process.

In view of this, the Impact Africa Summit: Ghana would initiate thediscussions on how government can collaborate with both local andinternational businesses in the country in working towards achieving theSDGs.

François Pujolas was appointed and has since July 2015 served as Ambassador of France to Ghana. He joined the

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Service in February 1990 where he served as Head of Information and Press Division at

the Embassy of France in Canada (Ottawa) from 1990 – 1993. From 1993 – 1996 he served as the Advisor to the

Director General of Administration (Modernization), Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He then became the Political Counselor at the Embassy of France in Japan (Tokyo) from 1996 -1998 and continued as

the Deputy Director in-charge of Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1998 – 2002. Ambassador Pujolas

moved on to serve as the Advisor to the Minister of Ecology & Sustainable Development, Director of Cabinet to Ms.

Tokia Saifi, State Minister for Sustainable Development until 2003 when he was appointed Head of the Information

and Press division, Embassy of France in Germany (Berlin).He served in Germany until 2007.

From 2007 – 2011, Ambassador Pujolas became the Consul General of France & Head of the Trade Commission,

Consulate General of France in Mumbai (In charge of Western India). In 2011, he worked as Advisor for Preparation

of the World Water Forum (Marseille, 2012), under the Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development. He

further served as the General Secretary in charge of France's preparation to Rio +20, the United Nations Conference

on Sustainable Development, under the Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development and continued as Head -

Department of Civil Status for French Nationals Abroad, under France's Ministry of Foreign Affairs until his

appointment as Ambassador of France to Ghana.

Ambassador François Pujolas graduated from the “ Sciences-PO- Institute of Political Studies', Strasbourg and

holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Strasbourg. He is also an Alumni of the “French National School of

Administration' (École nationale d'administration), Batch Jean Monnet.

Professor Martin Oteng-Ababio is a Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of the Urban Disaster Risk Reduction Program,

Department of Geography and Resource Development of the University of Ghana – Legon.

His specialized areas of study include urban environmental management, urban disaster risk reduction, and the

problem of informality. Among other topics, he has studied E-waste scavenging as an economic opportunity for

youth in Accra. He has written widely on urban issues in Ghana, and is the author/co-author of over 50 articles in

refereed journals, as well as 5 book chapters. His research work has also focused on areas which include – urban

waste management with specific reference to e-waste, disaster risk reduction and urban development. These have

been published in some of the leading international journals in Geography and Urban Development.

Prof's research and publications have been widely recognized by the international community as attested by

numerous citations of his work on Google Scholar Search. He was awarded the second prize winner by the Global

Development Network (GDN) for the Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development in 2011. Prof was

also the recipient of the Best Paper Award at the 2012 Southern African Society for Disaster Reduction Conference

in South Africa.

Professor Martin Oteng – Ababio has also been very active in a number of international and national collaborative

research projects through which he managed to attract research grants for his Department and the University.

Since his appointment at the University of Ghana in 2009, he has made over 40 presentations at various national

and international fora.

Dr. Dzani is an Entrepreneur and Businessman per excellence, with extensive business experience as an Economist and Business Owner with a proven record of successful entrepreneurship. He brings on board considerable years of experience in managing Micro & SME financing operations in Ghana.

Dr. Dzani is an accomplished Individual, a motivated Self-starter and excellent Negotiator with the credibility to engage and influence business at all levels.

Prior to his current role, Nii Kotei was the Head of Business Development & Consultancy of Canal Capital – a private equity firm in Ghana. Throughout his work with the organization, he took on a number of leadership roles and built a distinguished track record of services to many corporate institutions, especially, SMEs. He has carried out extensive research on micro financing and commercial banking. He has an impressive wealth of experience in micro-lending, contract negotiations, business analysis, corporate valuations, due diligence and the raising of capital.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and an Honorary Doctorate from Oral Roberts University, Oklahoma, USA. He also holds an MBA in Corporate Governance & Finance from University of Hull, United Kingdom. He is currently undertaking a professional law degree.

Kojo Addae-Mensah is Group Chief Executive of Databank Group. He has over 15 years of banking experience. Prior to joining the Databank Group, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Ghana Commercial Bank Limited, Ghana’s largest and most Profitable bank and before that, the Chief Operating Officer of Barclays Bank Ghana limited, the largest foreign owned bank in Ghana. He has a wealth of experience and an in-depth knowledge of the financial services Industry in Ghana. He is motivated by his desire for excellence and results.

Kojo’s experience is not only in the commercial banking space as his career began at Databank in 1998 with the corporate finance team. This is where the Databank’s Leap High values of Leadership, Excellence, Humility and Integrity were imbibed in him. Kojo has lived by these values throughout his successful career and will continue to ensure it is the cornerstone of the Databank group.

After his short stint at Databank in the 90s, Kojo worked with the Standard Chartered group for several years where he played various roles in Ghana, India, Kenya and Botswana.

He is an avid soccer fan, writes a column in the Kotoko Express and is also a national TV pundit. He is also a director of the Changing Lives Endowment fund, aimed at supporting bright and needy children at the SHS level.

Kojo holds an MBA in Finance and a BA in Economics all from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is married with a child.

Kordzo is product of University of Ghana, where he read B.A. Economics with Geography & Resource Development (1993) and later had is MPhil in Economics from the same University (2000). Having successfully completed his undergraduate degree program from University of Ghana, he undertook his national services in the Keta National Service Secretariat as the Administrative Officer from 1993 to 1994.

After the national service duties Kordzo taught briefly at his alma mater, Keta Business College, and then proceeded to work with Habitat for Humanity Ghana from 1995 to 1998. In September 1998, he resigned his position as a National Partner to pursue his Masters’ program in Economics at University of Ghana, which he completed successfully in 2000.

After graduation, he taught briefly at Ghana Institute of Languages, and worked with some consulting firms. Notable among them is A-BAS Consulting for the period of three years from 2001 to 2004 as a Senior Consultant and then to Managing Consultant position. In May 2004 he was appointed by UNDP as Policy Associate, later as a Program Officer, and now the Economics Specialist for the past six years.

Kordzo is currently the Manager for the Inclusive Growth Cluster in UNDP Ghana. He was the Economics Advisor (a. I.) in Uganda Country Office from October 2014 to June 2015; and also provided a month’s resident technical, advisory services and guidance to Lesotho Country Office for the preparation of MDG Acceleration Framework (MAF) document on maternal health and its roll out for implementation. I have been undertaken research and programming works, supervised colleagues, and consultants in undertaking research.

In addition to providing policy advice, coordination and program implementation, he also led the process and coordination of writing three National Human Development Reports; 15 District Human Development Reports.

Kordzo is knowledgeable in the current development paradigms, programming tools, policy instruments and services. In consulting, he led many assignments as a managing consultant and consulted for clients in both public and private sectors.

Dr. Felix Addo-Yobo is a Deputy Director at National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) with oversight responsibility for Environmental Policy and Planning.

He coordinates the incorporation of Climate Change, Green Economy, as well as Regional and Global Environmental protocols into the national development framework. He currently serves as the focal person at NDPC for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He was extensively involved in the intergovernmental negotiations that culminated in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and currently coordinating the development of a road map for including the SDGs into Ghana’s national development agenda.

Felix has over 15 years of progressive technical and management experience in the Environmental Management and Development Planning.

Prior to joining NDPC, he worked with Jacobs Engineering Limited in the United Kingdom where he led multi-disciplinary teams to provide innovative environmental and sustainability solutions for a number of high profile projects across Europe and Australia. He is a member of both the Ghana Institution of Engineers and the Ghana Institute of Planners.

Felix holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and a doctorate degree in Water and Environmental Management from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom.

Sam has been speaking promoting investment opportunities in Africa, educating and encouraging the youth to venture in entrepreneurial ship at various platforms including UN sub committees.

Dr. Sam Ankrah Co-founded the NAM Fund, a Social impact fund for Africa, which is established to contribute and align it's investments towards upward mobility across the African Landscape.

Sam is also the CEO of GAM-ANK GROUP, Ghana who are an upstream and downstream petroleum trading, energy and other spectrum of business dedicated to inbound and outbound cross border deal solutions focused on companies in emerging markets.

Moritz Garbrah Yankah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Human Resource Management option) from the Central University College, Accra-Ghana. He holds a certificate in International Degree Access Programme from the University of Wales, UK, through Datalink Institute, Accra.

He has other certificates from various training programmes and seminars. Examples are General Travel Knowledge & Ticketing, Entrepreneurship, Family Life Education and Marriage Counseling.

Moritz Yankah worked with the Volta River Authority's Corporate Communications Unit, Akosombo doing Public Relations and handling Senior High School and Tertiary Scholarships under the Authority's Community Development Programme. He is also a member of the Public School Project, a non-governmental organization that seeks to put less privileged children on the streets of Accra into formal school.

He also has years of experience in organizing corporate and social events. He looks forward to pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Program and to become an HR Consultant whiles doing social work.

Amanda is an Entrepreneur and a Real Estate Professional. She holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Law and Criminal Justice from Liverpool John Moores University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Amanda is the founder and the CEO of Ignite Consult, a consultancy and advisory firm based in Ghana. She is very conversant with regulatory guidelines and has assisted with several transactions related to Property and Land acquisition, Incorporation of Companies, Intellectual property, Petroleum and immigration.

Prior to establishing Ignite Consult, Amanda interned with two leading law firms in Ghana, Oxford & Beaumont and ǼLEX, where she gained a broad range of corporate and commercial experience. Amanda also worked as a case listing assistant at the Civil and Family Court in Liverpool.

Amanda is a proud member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. She is very passionate about child education and believes every child should be given the opportunity. She currently manages a Foundation that supports deprived children.

Dr. Juliet Yirerong graduated from the School of Medical Sciences at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She obtained full registration to work as a medical practitioner in Ghana after completing her housemanship at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, and at the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman.

Dr. Yirerong is currently pursuing an Internal Medicine Residency Program at the Brown Alphert Medical School in the United States, having worked in a private facility where she served a wide range of patient from both local and international community in Ghana.

She has special interests in Cardiology and Critical Care.

Stanley Brocke is an electrical engineer by profession with particular interests in electrical power and advanced control and remote monitoring systems. He has over eight years’ experience in the Telecom sector working with key players offering technical solutions, managed services and delivering turnkey projects across the value chain. He has previously been involved in advocacy programs including the OneGhana Peace project.

He graduated with a BSc. Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the College of Engineering of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and has certified Project Management Professional (PMP) training.

Mr Brocke is a staunch advocate of youth entrepreneurship and currently CEO of Digital Xclusive Ltd; a Mobile Media Content and Value Added Services (VAS) provider for Telecom operators, having also founded several other businesses. Apassionate believer in the adoption of sustainable approach in all human endeavours, Mr Brocke has ambitions to venture into clean energy technologies that will serve as viable options to power the future of mankind.

Seth’s role profile at Diplomatic Call has made him an “expert” in African Diplomacy, in addition to his continuous top level interactions with policy makers, key diplomats, ministers of state, governmental officials and foreign investors on Ghana and Africa’s foreign affairs and international relations.

With close to a decade’s experience in research and media management, Seth’s working principle is to spearhead an agenda for countries to complement each other’s national resources in order to ensure sustainable growth and prosperity for all.

He holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Mountcrest University College.
