ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed bids will be received by Columbia Metropolitan Airport, 3250 Airport Boulevard, Suite 10, West Columbia, SC 29170 until 2PM on August 13, 2018, at which time they will be publicly opened and read for the Airfield Improvements project at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport. The bid schedules provided below have been compiled into one set of bid documents. Each bid schedule represents a standalone project. The Contractor may bid on one select bid schedule or any combination of the three bid schedules. Each bid schedule will be evaluated separately for the lowest responsive bidder. Bid Schedule A Route Bravo This project includes construction of a new access road that connects from the existing Route Bravo access road near Taxiway C1 into Taxiway E3. The proposed route will run parallel to Taxiway C and is 18.5 feet wide and 2,000 feet long. The project includes the following approximate major project elements: 5,200 square yards of crushed aggregate base course, 5,000 square yards of existing pavement removal, storm drainage structures and pipe, and 1,500 cubic yards of excavation. In addition, the pavement section is being bid for both concrete and asphalt. The concrete section will include approximately 4,300 square yards of concrete pavement and the asphalt pavement section will include approximately 1,000 tons of asphalt. Associated work items include demolition, erosion control, topsoiling and grassing, and pavement markings. Bid Schedule B Taxiway F Demolition The project includes removal of existing Taxiway F. The pavement removal extends between Taxiway A through Taxiway B. The pavement demolition will include full depth removal of existing asphalt and base material. In addition, the project will include drainage structure and pipe removal, and removal of taxiway edge lights and signs. Approximate major project elements: 24,000 square yards of existing pavement removal, 12,000 cubic yards of excavation, and 75 taxiway edge lights. Associated work items include demolition, erosion control, and topsoiling and grassing. Bid Schedule C Drainage Improvements The project includes drainage improvements to a ditch located between the West Cargo Apron and the Terminal Apron. The open ditch is going to be piped and backfilled. The ditch contains several headwalls that will be demolished and approximately 775 square yards of concrete paved to be removed. The project includes the following approximate major project elements: 11,500 cubic yards of excavation, 1,270 linear feet of 72” RCP, 200 linear feet of 66” RCP, and 11 drainage structures. Associated work items include demolition, erosion control, and topsoiling and grassing. Bids must be on standard forms furnished by Holt Consulting Company, LLC. and must be addressed to Columbia Metropolitan Airport at the address as noted above. Complete sets may be ordered and purchased directly from Quest CDN. No partial sets will be issued. Technical questions shall be directed to the office of the Engineer in writing. Questions and associated answers will be transmitted to all plan holders.

Bid Documents will be available to download at 2PM on July 13, 2018.

Bid Bond in an amount equal to and not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid is required. If

the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten (10) days after award, or fails to

give satisfactory surety as required by law, the above deposit will be retained by Owner as

liquidated damages.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within ninety (90) days after opening thereof.

Pre-Bid Meeting: A M andatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 2PM on J u l y 2 6 , 2018,

at Columbia Metropolitan Airport, Carolina Room, 3250 Airport Boulevard, West Columbia, SC

29170.

All contractors are hereby notified that they shall be properly licensed in accordance with

the provisions of Section 40-11-5 through 40-11-430 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976

as amended.

The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any and or all bids and, to waive all technicalities

and formalities and to award the Contract to another other than to low bidder, should it be deemed

in his best interest.
