This organization provides food, medical attention and a shelter for homeless animals; as well as helping them find a safe home with a caring, adoptive family.

The Humane Society of the United States was founded in 1954 in Washington, D.C. and continues to be the nation’s largest and most effective animal welfare organization.

Make a difference for homeless animals with Twitter and Instagram!

Tag photos and tweets with the hashtag #adoptdontshop to raise awareness on shelter animals and the work that the Humane Society does.

Our goal is to help animals find a new home by educating the public about the kind of work the Humane Society does through Social Media, as well as sharing stories and pictures of animals at our shelter with the hashtag #adoptdontshop; similar to the images above from the Austin Humane Society Twitter Page and the Humane Society Silicon Valley Facebook Page.

This is a great example of how the Wisconsin Humane Society uses Social Media to make a difference in these animals lives and to connect the community with the Humane Society and the work it does.

Our BudgetSince the Humane Society is a non-profit organization we will not have a huge budget for our marketing campaign, so realistically, we will allocate 15% of our total budget to marketing and advertising; if all goes well, we can always increase it to 20%, but to start off it is safe to go with 15% of our total budget.

Share your experience volunteering or adopting a furry friend at the Humane Society through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or foursquare!

The Humane Society YouTube Channel

We will improve the current Humane Society YouTube Channel and come up with creative video ideas such as showing how to properly take care of your pet, tips for training dogs and tutorials on how to groom dogs or how to teach them special tricks.

If we gain a lot of subscribers we can have a positive effect on how people treat their pets and this will want to make more people adopt pets at a shelter instead of buying them at pet stores.
