Was bedeutet „Additive Fertigung“?

Definition (Wikipedia):

3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing (AM), refers to processes used to

create a three-dimensional object in which successive layers of material are formed

under computer control to create an object. Objects can be of almost any shape or

geometry and are produced using digital model data from a 3D model

Primary Use Cases:

• Lightweight existing designs/concept

• Conceptual design development

Functionality:

• Mass target with maximum stiffness

• Minimum member size

• Multiple load cases

• Single part of an assembly

• Promote mesh to design

Topology Optimization

Shape Generator Shape Optimization

Optimizes the weight of a part based on:

▪ Given shape

▪ Forces

▪ Restricted areas

▪ Material

Topology Optimization - “Shape Generator”

Note:

Optimized for stiffness therfore itdoesn‘t matter if you put 1N or 100kN on the part. You ALWAYS need tovalidate the stress afterwards

7,3kg0,074mm displacement

9kg0,061mm displacement

4.1kg0,1mm displacement

Replacing material by a

dynamic lattice structure

▪ Predefined lattices

▪ „X“, „W“, „Bone“, ..

▪ Define custom lattices

▪ Optimize lattices based

on forces and pressure
