The Community Access Media Alliance (CAMA) coordinator Sasha Borrisenko is spearheading a publicity campaign that features all the fantastic content creators across the country, contributing to our schedules with stories, cultures, interests and opinions. Locally, we were delighted to have the Indian Show hosts, Rachel Dore (Words from the Bubble), Ruby Dax (Palmy Pride) and Serena Deane (Blockbuster Backrooms) sit in front of a camera and read scripts. How do you respond to the limited celebrations of localmusic that 2020 inflicted upon us? You dial 2021 up toeleven!

We're doing a number of on air promotions and events inMay with one sole aim - celebrate the diversity, talent andsheer number of people in our local music community!

ON AIR KIWI MUSICRemember our 100% Kiwi Music Weekends? Well, we'vemade the decision to retire that idea. Instead, we'll beplaying 100% Kiwi music every day of the week in our musicschedule and encouraging content creators to incorporateKiwi music in their programmes.

RAIDING THE ARCHIVESMake sure you tune in to the showcase at 8pm Monday toFriday as we go back through years of live-to-airs,interviews, presentations and Sounds of Summer concertperformances from musicians past and present.

SUNDAY LIVE ZONEThe Sunday Live Zone is broadcast between 5pm and 7pmand will feature recordings of the events opposite. If youcan't make it to an event, tune in for the audio.

If you're patient, you can wait a little longer and see thevideos uploaded to our YouTube channel!

All events start at 7pm at Venue 409 on Church St, oppositethe police station. (The old church of Christian Scientists).

6 May | Music Community Networking event andMystery Songwriting Session performanceAnyone (and we mean anyone) associated with the musicindustry is invited to come, mix and mingle and enjoyrefreshments with likeminded people. From bedroomsongwriters to venue operators, touring professionals toteachers, producers and sound engineers, roadies and theretired. Come and find out who's doing what, what projectsare under way, what opportunities there are, what the nextbig idea might be and who can help make it happen.

You'll also see the first (and hopefully not last!) MysterySongwriting Session band perform their song.

Five local musicians are challenged to write a songtogether for New Zealand Music Month. The catch? Theyhave NO IDEA who they are working with! See how thewriting went, and then see the final song performed live!

13 May | Ken and Chris's Jazz Odyssey & Songwriters CircleKen Tate (host of All That Jazz) and Chris Dann (localpianist and performer) team up to talk Aotearoa Jazz withsome live performances from Chris on the piano.

We'll also feature two local songwriters in the return of thesongwriters circle. In a 15 minute slot, they'll talk about theirsongwriting techniques, inspirations and methods. They'llalso perform one of their first songs, one of their mostrecent compositions and a cover of a song that inspiresthem.

20 May | Ucol Music Students Live Review & Songwriters CircleUcol's music certificate and diploma courses have beenhoning the talents of musicians and songwriters for years.This years students will get the chance to perform in aunique setting and demonstrate their growth as artists.

27 May | The Secret Gay History of NZ Music & Songwriters CirclePalmy Pride hosts Cam, Matt and Andy present the history,influence and challenges of the LGBTQI+ community inAotearoa's music evolution.
