ACCS - Analytics Case study Competition and Symposium
The case represents data set, having weekly sale data of refrigerated 64-ounce orange juice containers
from 83 stores in the Chicago area. There are many stores, many time periods and different brands.
Each row of data contains the recorded store sales (in logarithms; logmove) along with brand, price, and
presence/absence of advertisement (feat) demographic characteristics of the store. Using this data
answer the following.
1.
How does the store demographics influence the sales?
Is there any specific demographic factor that influences the sale of each of the three brands of
orange juice?
2.
What is the impact of price on sales?
Is there a price sensitivity associated with store demographics? If so what are these?
3.
Develop a demand forecasting model for store wise and brand wise for that particular store.
What are the common aspects of these forecast models.
4.
If a store is to be started in Chicago area catering to the premium customers, where should it be
located and at what ratio different orange juice brands should be carried to maximize revenue?
