community with intentional learning activities in a way that is mutually

beneficial to the student and the community. CSL courses match

students with non-profit organizations for individual placements

or group projects and typically last 4 months (1 academic term).

Co-ops alternate periods of academic study with periods of

work experience in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

Co-ops are typically 4 months (1 academic term).

Internships give students an opportunity to integrate career-related

experience into their undergraduate education by participating

in planned, supervised work. Internships can take many formats,

including paid/unpaid, academic/non-academic and local/

international. Internships are typically 8, 12, or 16 months in duration.
