Abstract Primary school pupils are always having problems in reciting Al- Quran with the correct pronunciation of makhraj while this issue affects their Al-Quran recital. This action research was conducted in order to improve their skills in reciting Al-Fatihah correctly on the kalimah with the letters ( , غ, غ ض, ض). Therefore, JAS technique was chosen to overcome the problems in pronouncing the correct makhraj. This technique was a combination of ‘Miracle Table’ and ‘Let’s Pronounce’ which used the methods of playing, singing and drilling on pronouncing the kalimah to increase the pupils’ interests and enjoyment in the process of teaching and learning so that they would be able to pronounce the makhraj for each letter correctly. The instruments used were Tasmi’ test and observation. This research involved 5 pupils from Year 2 Usaha of Sekolah Kebangsaan Desa Pahlawan. The result of this research showed that there were some improvements in the mean of pre-test and post-test which were from 21.6% to 83%. The increase was 61.4% in total. In conclusion, the JAS technique was able to overcome the problems in pronouncing the correct makhraj of each letter in Al-Fatihah, and also increase the pupils’ interest in learning. This research was vital to improve the teacher’s teaching in school and turn the teaching and learning process to be more interesting. The suggestion for future research can be involving the other letters which have the almost similar sound using more interesting song lyrics and it can be also used for the other purposes besides in Al-Quran field.
