March brings on the Irish! And as always, there are many celebrations for St. Patrick’s Day taking place throughout New Jersey, including some long-stand-ing traditions. Make sure you stop by a St. Paddy’s

Day Parade. They are always so much fun for the little ones and you can be sure to always find a green beer nearby. Spring is in the air as well, you may not feel it yet, but it is just around the corner. More than ever, I think we welcome this change of season with even wider arms this year.

We have all been affected in some way by Hurricane San-dy and several other winter storms that followed - if not our homes and families, then our neighbors, our communities, or our employers. Our area was hard hit and thousands of peo-ple lost everything that was most precious to them. Yet after the initial shock, the will to fight back came over us and that is exactly what the people, the businesses, and the communities in this area did. Almost immediately, neighbors began helping neighbors; people joined forces to organize fundraisers; and towns reached out to one another. Many businesses that were damaged are now reopening with a renewed sense of pride. Reach out to them now, support them, and let’s continue to make “Jersey Strong” with our determination, compassion, and strength. After all, we have already defied a super storm!

Our March 2013 edition of Community Magazine marks the celebration of our two year anniversary being in business! You may not know, but we have another publication in the Colts Neck, Holmdel and Lincroft area. Even though this edition has only been published since September 2012, we truly have enjoyed getting to know our neighbors and the great people of Aberdeen, Keyport, Hazlet and Matawan. Community Mag-azine’s staff looks forward to bringing you the stories of your neighborhood in the years to come! We are always on the hunt for inspiring stories like the ones featured every month in our publications – so readers, if you know anyone who we should spotlight, people that deserve recognition – do not hesitate to email us. We are elated that we remain your favorite commu-nity magazine and continue to bring you the best of the best!

All my best,

Dearborn Market held The Great Chili Challenge on January 27 during which visitors were able to sample variations of chili made by 28 partic-ipants. They included such choices as a vege-

table chili, traditional meat chili, chicken chili, fire-hot chili, and an authentic New Mexican chili. Three judges taste-tested the chilies and chose three winners based on originality, consistency, and flavor.

Judges Drew Araneo, Chef and Owner of Drew’s Bayshore Bistro in Keyport, Kathy Logan of BRIDGES Program, and DJ Luccarelli, co-owner of Dearborn Mar-ket said it was a tough competition. “There are so many great chilies here. It’s not that easy to choose the win-ners,” said Luccarelli. Many of the participants offered extra goodies with their chili, such as rice, cheese, and crusty bread. Shaun McGuinness and April Fox, a young Hazlet couple, gave homemade tortillas and cheese along with their authentic New Mexican chili, “Los Alam-itos,” a traditional recipe of April’s family. Dearborn Mar-ket also presented samples of their chili and the Born to Hula Hot Sauce available for purchase.

The Great Chili Challenge was held to benefit the BRIDGES Outreach Program and each participant’s en-try fee was donated to this program. Each participant also received a $10 Dearborn Market gift card towards the ingredients for their entries. First place winner was Monica Gionet, Tinton Falls, who received a $100 Dear-born Market gift card, trophy and medal. Second place winner was Bill Wurtz, Holmdel; and third place winners were Warren Schueler and his son Warren II. The Cus-tomers’ Choice was Bill Wurtz. Jason DeGennaro, Key-port and Loriann Davidson, Keyport were among the honorable mentions.

consultation fee – so there is no reason not to follow through on your decision for a new look. Some of the most popular procedures include breast augmentation, tummy tuck and liposuction, as well as non-surgical fa-cial rejuvenation. The newest non-surgical procedure now available at the Thompson Center for Plastic Surgery is Ultherapy, an FDA-approved ultrasound based skin tight-ening treatment for the face and neck which is sought after by women and men looking to reverse the signs of aging with no downtime.

“Educating patients is my philosophy, help-ing my patients achieve their aesthetic goals is my passion,” said Dr. Thompson.

Thompson Center for Plastic Surgery is lo-cated at 5 Professional Circle, Suite 107, Colts Neck, New Jersey. They can be reached at 732.410.4789.

Thompson Center for Plastic Surgery opened its state-of-the-art facility in mid-May 2009. Dr. Rudolf Thomp-son has been in practice since 2000.

He has made certain that every patient feels welcome and understood from the first call to his office until the final follow up visit. His office staff is friendly, courteous, and compas-sionate beginning with the initial visit through every visit thereafter. Dr. Thompson’s com-passion and personal concern for each patient has been highly praised by new and returning patients.

Dr. Thompson spends considerable time with each patient during consultations which allows patients the time to ask any and all ques-tions necessary to ensure that they are confi-

dent in their decision. Dr. Thompson is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Sur-gery and the American Board of Surgery. Addi-tionally, he is a member of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He regu-larly attends meetings throughout the country to stay current on new techniques and proce-dures so he can continue to maintain his educa-tion and thus his patients’ education.

This is a great time to make an appointment for a consultation. Remember, there are only a few months until the spring and summer sea-sons when more revealing clothing is worn, vacations begin, and much more time is spent outdoors. Until the end of March, the Thomp-son Center for Plastic Surgery is waiving the

Bayshore Community Hospital and Meridian Health Affiliat-ed Foundations announced a $5 million charitable contribu-tion from Mrs. Janice Mitchell Vassar, whose sole desire, in her words, is to “make my hospital the best hospital it can be.”

Given in honor of the memory of her brother, Ashby John Mitchell, Mrs. Vassar’s gift will propel Bayshore Community Hospital’s vision to significantly grow cardiovascular services, as well as enhance access to services for the vision impaired throughout the communities Meridian Health serves. The donation stands as the largest single gift to Bayshore and marks the second $5 million dollar gift to Meridian Health within the last year.

“There is no more profound way to give back to a community in its en-tirety than to give to your community hospital,” says David Flood, pres-ident of the Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations. “As we continue to grow the breadth and depth of services at Bayshore Community Hospital, Mrs. Vassar’s gift will create a lasting legacy, and is already serving as a catalyst for other community leaders to lend their support.”

At Bayshore, a significant portion of the donation will be used to fund the expansion of cardiovascular services, specifically the construction of two new state-of-the-art heart and vascular labs. As part of the Meridian Cardiovascular Network and through its strong relationship with Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a recognized leader in open heart sur-gery in New Jersey, cardiovascular services have become a signature ser-vice at Bayshore.

“Mrs. Vassar’s gift supports our vision to continually advance care at Bayshore,” says Timothy J. Hogan, FACHE, regional president of Bayshore Community Hospital and Riverview Medical Center, “and marks the be-ginning of a project that will change the landscape of cardiovascular care in our community.”

BAYSHORE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL AND MERIDIAN HEALTH AFFILIATED FOUNDATIONS ANNOUNCE 5 MILLION DOLLAR DONATIONLargest single gift to Bayshore will fund the strategic vision for cardiovascular services

“Janice Mitchell Vassar is an extraordinary woman,” says John Lloyd, president and CEO of Meridian Health. “She has honored her family’s leg-acy of philanthropy and public service through so many kind deeds and good works of her own. Her personal legacy will be strongly tied to the phenomenal changes and bright future at Bayshore Community Hospi-tal.”

There are plans to begin construction on the two new heart and vas-cular labs in 2013. In 2012, Bayshore’s catheterization lab met stringent requirements to become designated as a full service catheterization lab. Bayshore also applied to New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and was granted the permission to develop and implement a Pri-mary Angioplasty program, which will begin in the first half of 2013.

“This gift touches so many things that are dear to my heart,” says Janice Mitchell Vassar. “Through my gift to Meridian Health I am able to create an ongoing resource for the vision impaired and, in memory of beloved brother Ashby, I am able to be a part of Bayshore’s exciting future and help my hospital provide the best cardiac services to our community.”

Keyport Kiwanis Club held their annual Fish Fry on Feb-ruary 13 at the Town and Country Restaurant in Key-

port. “This is our largest fundraiser and is always held on Ash Wednes-day,” said President Mike Ellithorpe. Over 600 dinners including take-outs were made and served, noted Treasurer Leo Mania.

This event is also a great social evening as friends, family, other Ki-wanis Clubs, business owners, and town officials reconnect during the dinner. Key Club members from Keansburg, Keyport, Matawan, and M.A.S.T. high schools were the wait staff during the evening. Special guests included the Mennonites from Christian Aide Ministries who were invited by a Kiwanis member to thank them for their help with res-toration following the destruction caused by Superstorm Sandy. Anoth-er guest was Kiwanis Lt. Governor of District 5 Anthony Affatati, Sr., who came to show his support. Nicole Ventrone, 17, a student at M.A.S.T.

who is the NJ District Governor for Key Club joined the wait staff for the evening. She oversees 154 Key Clubs made up of 12,150 members. “Key Club is the high school version of Kiwanis,” she said, “and our program is community service/leadership ori-ented. There is no need for a specific skill just a dedication and passion to help others. I love it and find it fas-cinating to meet so many people. It unifies students from all cultures and with different backgrounds.”

President Ellithorpe explained that while Kiwanis is for adults, there is the Builders Club for grade school; Key Club for high schools; and Cir-cle K for college-aged students. “We help many local charities,” he said. Kiwanis members are dedicated to helping today’s children be tomor-row’s citizens.

Keyport Kiwanis Club’s next fund-raiser is their Chicken Fry on April 8 at the Town and Country in Keyport. For further information, visit www.keyportkiwanis.org.

NORTH CENTERVILLE FIRE COMPANY’S

St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church was formed in 1863 when six women and one man decided that an Episcopal Church should be established in Keyport. Abraham Lincoln was Pres-ident of the United States back then and times were tough. The

Reverend Theophilus Reily ministered to the small congregation, and as the membership grew, they were able to purchase the old Baptist meeting house on West Front Street. The church and 29 other buildings were destroyed in the fire of 1877. One year later, the cornerstone of the present church building at 10 East Front Street was installed. Eight of the stained glass windows in the church recall such people as Otto Weigand, long time warden; Thomas Rosevear, Warden: Ludicy and Eliza Jane Hunt, two of the original seven founders of the church; Emil-ia Hoff, and others.

Within the church’s early history, it is noted that Rod Croes, Charles Sakin and Joan Pettit, three church members, were ordained into the priesthood. Two former rectors became bishops; The Rt. Reverend Vin-cent K. Pettit became the Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of New Jersey and the Rt. Reverend Benjamin Dagwell became the Bishop of the Dio-cese of Oregon. On a historical note, The Rev. Telfair Hodgson served as a Major in the Confederate Army prior to serving as Rector from 1866 to 1871.

St. Mary’s is a charming old church which has been modernized over the years. The original altar that was along the back wall was replaced by the present free-standing altar; the pipe organ was rebuilt and en-larged; new pews, lecterns and furnishings were purchased during the l960’s. During that time period St. Mary’s sponsored Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troop 64 and a Naval Brigade unit. In 1952 St. Mary’s pur-chased the VFW hall adjacent to the church. The building currently serves as the Parish Hall. A Thrift Shop opened in 1964 and continues to thrive by offering the community items that are reasonably priced. Another very important ministry is the housing of the Keyport Minis-terium Food Pantry in the undercroft of St. Mary’s. Late in 2001 when the Pantry was searching for a new location, The Reverend Martha Blacklock, Vicar of St. Mary’s, and O. John Reed, Director of the Pan-try, arranged to have the Pantry move from Calvary United Methodist Church to St. Mary’s on February 1, 2002.

In celebration of the 150 years of the church’s existence, St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church will hold a commemorative Solemn Evensong Service and short organ recital by their former organist, Marilyn Brace, on Sunday, March 24 beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Rt. Reverend George Councell, Bishop of the Diocese of New Jersey, will attend and deliver the homily. The community is cordially invited to join in the celebra-tion, review the pictorial history on display and attend the reception in the Parish Hall immediately following the service.

Project PAUL, the local charitable organization that has long been a fixture in the Bayshore area, has fully re-opened its doors more than three months after damage from Hur-ricane Sandy forced them closed. The agency, probably best known as a thrift store and food pantry, actually provides a wide variety of services to needy families and individuals living in the Bayshore area of Monmouth County. Keansburg, where Project PAUL is located, was particularly hard hit by the hurricane.

In a typical year, Project PAUL distributes approximately $500,000 in increments ranging from approximately $100 to to clients in need of financial assis-tance for rent or utility payments. The funding for these services comes largely from government grants.

“We provide continued sup-port for the Social Services infra-

structure in Monmouth County by applying for government grants, interviewing clients, as-sessing needs, and distributing funds if appropriate,” explained Sal Cortale, executive director.

In addition, Project PAUL op-erates the largest food pantry in Monmouth County, serving more than 1600 families weekly, and provides a variety of other ser-vices, including an educational support program for single par-ents attempting to earn a degree, English classes for non-native speakers, funding for prescrip-tions, and donations of clothes, diapers and household items to those clients who need them. Special programs throughout the year offer families who qualify everything from back to school book bags to holiday gifts.

A thrift store and furniture store both provide funding for the agency’s operations, and serve as a meeting place and source of in-

expensive goods for local residents.

Perhaps the most valuable asset provid-ed by Project PAUL is its integration into the community. It is well known in Monmouth

County among those who require its ser-vices, those who support its efforts and those who simply seek a thrift store bargain or good quality used furniture. It has es-tablished an infrastructure that allows it to uniquely and efficiently deliver services to its clients with limited paid staff and resources, one which it has built on and refined since its establishment in 1980. The agency’s promi-nent position in the community, network of volunteers and knowledge of its client base all make it uniquely effective.

When Sandy sent three feet of water swirling through the first floor of the main building on Carr Avenue, temporarily crip-pling the agency, the Bayshore lost a crucial resource at a time when its services were most acutely needed. Faced with losses exceeding $250,000 in lost inventory and damage to the building and equipment, but bolstered by an outpouring of support from donors and volunteers, Project PAUL’s staff started rebuilding.

Even during the closure, the agency was able to provide some limited services – Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas gifts were delivered on time, and clients were seen by appointment, even while the doors mostly remained closed.

Finally with the building once again re-sembling a thrift store and food pantry in-stead of a construction site, with new walls and floors, new fixtures in the store, and three new refrigerators lined up against freshly painted walls in the pantry, Project PAUL returned to normal operations on

February 4. The furniture store, also having undergone substantial repairs, opened sev-eral days later.

Looking forward, the people of Project PAUL are ready to fill the role they have filled for more than 30 years, meeting the needs of Bayshore’s most vulnerable residents, but with the understanding that for months and even years to come, those needs will be even greater.

“Many people have stepped up to help those suffering in the wake of Sandy, and those efforts have helped bring awareness to issues we have always known about and always dealt with effectively,” said Cortale.

“And as time goes by and other crises devel-op elsewhere, we will be here continuing our efforts as we have for the past 30 years.”

“Thirty years ago Project PAUL led the way in addressing the needs of the people of Keansburg, and 30 years later, Project PAUL is leading the way in showing there is life after Sandy,” said Sister Nancy Herron, director of client services.

“When you sow seeds of hope, you can stop the wind,” she added.

To find out more about Project PAUL, vis-it the agency’s web site, www.projpaul.org. Photographs of the damage from Sandy and the rebuilding efforts are featured on the agency’s Facebook page.

Raritan High School Class of 2015 held a Gift Bingo Fundraiser on January 31, complete with over 30 raffle gifts donated by local busi-nesses, students, and their families. Dessert,

coffee and tea were included in the admission fee. Guests were asked to bring snacks for their table as well as a $20 wrapped gift which was exchanged at each of the tables later in the evening. Class President Chris Lind noted that the event was to help raise funds for the Class of 2015 Junior Prom, Senior Prom, and class trips. “This is our first fundraising event of the year. We hope to have a restaurant fundraiser, where a percentage of the bill is donated to our class. Also, we have been discussing the possibility of a car wash in the spring,” said Lind.

Advisors for the Class of 2015, Mrs. Sandra Burgos and Mrs. Ada McCrady noted there were also plans for a class picnic. Class of 2015 officers attending the event were President Chris Lind; Secretary Olivia Cos-tagliola; Treasurer Lindsay Taylor; as well as Executive representatives Stefanie Alaimo, Kasey Arnold, and Dana Galassa.

Relay for Life of Matawan held their Relay for Life Kick-Off Party on February 19 at Matawan-Aberdeen Regional High School during which Chair Eric Friedman and Assistant Prin-cipal Mike Wells, and MRHS staff member Kristina Leach

spoke about the upcoming event set for June 7 to 8. The discussion was followed by a short video that highlighted the celebration of sur-vivors, and the Luminaria Ceremony to honor and remember those lost to cancer. The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is open to all Matawan, Aberdeen, Cliffwood, and Cliffword Beach commu-nities. Relay for Life of Matawan has chosen “The Boardwalk” as their

theme complete with beach gear and boardwalk games, which will be set up all along the MRHS football field. Continuous music will play during the event. Over 75 people attended the Kick-off Party and were able to ask questions, sign up as teams, and gather infor-mational sheets about the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. Upcoming fundraising events, sign-ups by new teams, and an area for online donations, are available on the website and will be updated continually. Visit www.RelayForLife.org/MatawanNJ.

Relay for Life of Hazlet held their first Team Captains Meet-ing on February 20 at Raritan High School. About 40 people attended including the Girls Soccer Team. About 90 people attended the Kick-Off Party on January 30. Event chair RHS

teacher Andrew LaBarbera explained that the Committee that works on the Relay and keeps it running smoothly is an eclectic range of individuals from teachers to parents, caregivers to survivors, busi-nesses to non-profit, noted Mr. LaBarbera. Cliff Moore of The Social Media Wizards spoke with the students about using Facebook and Twitter to spread the word about this event. Share, share, and share again, he emphasized. Mr. LaBarbera offered this explanation of Re-

lay for Life of Hazlet. “Imagine seeing 3000 people walk the track during the Luminaria ceremony, one of the most important pieces of Relay; Imagine having over 1000 registered participants who raise $85,000; Envision the transformation of a high school track into a synergetic and cohesive environment fighting, celebrating and re-membering. This is what RFL of Hazlet looks like.” A Car Wash fund-raiser will be held on May 11 from which 101.5 will broadcast live. All funds will be donated to the American Cancer Society. The Aberdeen Economic Business Council (EBC) an-nounced the appointment of two local businessmen to the Township advisory board at its February 11 meeting: Tom Roman of Quality 1st Contracting and

Steve Marcinkiewicz of PNC Bank, who was also elected by the group to serve as Treasurer.

They were appointed to fill positions vacated by Barbara Fischer of Columbia Bank and Michael Ali of Livoti’s. Roman is the principal of Quality First Contracting, a firm that is in the process of relocating from Perth Amboy to the former 84 Lumber site on Route 35. Marcinkiewicz is vice president and manager of the newly-opened PNC branch at Lloyd Road and Route 34.

“We all look forward to working with Tom and Steven on making our Council even stronger than what it is today,” said Carmine S. Visone, who was reelected chairman of the EBC at the group’s January meeting.

Roman and Marcinkiewicz join current EBC Members Ja-son Bigelow, Advanced Tire and Auto Center; Eugene DeMar-co, DeMarco’s Italian Bakery; Luigi Falco, Fun Time America; Arthur Hirsch, Snap Fitness; Maxine Rescorl, Aberdeen Town-ship Zoning Officer; Melanie Straniero, Flowers by Melanie; and Visone of Home Away from Home Academy.

In addition to welcoming the two new members, the meeting featured a presentation by Ron DeLuca, executive vice president at retail real estate brokerage R.J. Brunelli & Co. DeLuca discussed the state of retail real estate in Ab-erdeen and surrounding communities, future development opportunities and steps the EBC and Township can take to help landlords fill vacancies in existing properties. The meet-ing also included updates by Council members on the EBC’s plans for Aberdeen Day 2013 events outside of the primary venue at the high school, including the Aberdeen’s Got Tal-ent contest. Additionally, the group began the process of es-tablishing a database of all Aberdeen businesses that can be used by the EBC, police and fire departments, and the Town-ship’s government.

The Aberdeen Economic Business Council was formed in 2012 to improve relations with the business community, ex-plore opportunities for new commercial or industrial devel-opment and help attract new businesses to town. At a grant presentation on Sunday, February 17 at the New Jersey Flower and Garden Show, Keyport GardenWalk was awarded a $1,000 grant from The Garden Club of New Jer-sey, Inc. The grant was made possible through USDA Spe-

cialty Crop Block Grant 2013.

Keyport GardenWalk, June 8 and 9, 2013 is a free, self-guided walking and biking tour of over 30 public and private gardens in historic Keyport. GardenWalk also features free horticultural sem-inars, live music and en plein air painters. In 2012, Keyport Gard-enWalk welcomed approximately 1,600 visitors to Keyport over the course of the two day event.

According to Keyport GardenWalk Chair, Clare Skeen, “the grant from The Garden Club of Jersey, Inc./New Jersey Department of Ag-riculture is key to our being able to offer Keyport GardenWalk as a free event to the public. Without this grant and the generosity of our corporate sponsors, Keyport GardenWalk would not be possi-ble”.

For more information about Keyport GardenWalk, please email [email protected].

“It’s all about self-empowerment, not entitlement.” That is the reason why the Monmouth County Referral Group (MCRG) Founding Board Member Ken Scaggs said his group chose to hold a second annual fundraiser, “A Night of Hope to Feed the Soul” to benefit the JBJ (Jon Bon Jovi) Soul Kitchen at Pazzo Restaurant in Red Bank on January 17, 2013.

MCRG is a business networking group dedicated to area self-started small businesses helping one another grow and thrive, “especially in an economy like the one we’ve been experiencing,” Scaggs said. “Everyone here has worked or started their business and got where they are by hard work and dedication. The Soul Kitchen works on the same sort of premise. It’s a great source of empowerment.”

Local rocker Bon Jovi’s Red Bank restaurant has no prices and thrives only on in-kind service donations in exchange for meals. The crowd of over 155, each paying $125, enjoyed a three-course meal, entertainment, a silent auction and more to benefit the cause. Last year, MCRG raised $6,000 for the Soul Kitchen. This year, event organizer and board member and owner/operator of Social Butterfly Event Planning, Debbie Noce, said they expected to double that amount.

Entertainment was provided by Scott Elk, PJ Windle of Essential Sounds Entertainment, and Charlotte Sometimes from The Voice’s second season. MTC Photography was on hand on the Red Carpet, along with Cosmic Broadcasting doing the live broadcast of the benefit. The flowers were provided by Flowers by Melanie.

The evening turned out to be a very successful event and Ms. Noce was thrilled by the turnout and support from the community. Monmouth County Referral Group raised $15,000.00 for JBJ Soul Kitchen and presented the check to JBJ Soul Kitchen on February 15, 2013.

Monmouth County Referral Group handed over a check for $15,000.00 to JBJ Soul Kitchen in Red Bank on February 15, 2013.

Den mother of Holmdel Bear Scouts Troop#331 Den 8 Mrs. Karen Salerno and eight members of the den welcomed Community Magazine on February 19 during their regular meeting. The

visit was to learn about the process of writing and all of the details of a magazine.

Editor-in-Chief Carolyn Burtnick and writer Susan Murphy spoke to the scouts about the importance of gathering facts and then how to compile them into a story; how the staff works as a team to produce the magazine, with each person handling their area of expertise; and especially, how the “newsroom” today is no longer just a single room with typewriters and reporters waiting by the phone for leads – it can be anywhere.

The scouts received a copy of the February 2013 issue of the magazine and some of them recognized friends, and in one case a scout saw their Dad in the pictures and read his name in the text. The visit and discussion was a requirement for the scouts to receive their Bear Badges. The boys enjoyed the talk and wanted to send a big “Thank you” to the staff at Community Magazine for sharing their knowledge and time.

Cliff Moore and Mitzy Moore, owners of IHOP in Keyport,

partnered with Breast Intentions during the month of Feb-

ruary and donated 10% of Thursday sales from the Keyport

IHOP.

There were volunteers from Breast Intentions sharing information

about their organization and handing out literature on Breast Cancer.

“Breast Intentions helps women in financial crisis while they are bat-

tling breast cancer. We are run by volunteers and are funded by dona-

tions. Without the generosity of people like Cliff and Mitzy Moore, we

would not be able to do what we do. Cliff and Mitzy are legendary for

their generosity, we are grateful that they have joined us in our mis-

sion by donating to Breast Intentions for the month of February. They

are helping us make a difference to women in need!” remarked Erika

Rech, founder of Breast Intentions.

“We were happy to help raise the awareness of breast cancer and we

appreciate all of our customers who came out and supported Breast

Intentions by dining with us on Thursdays,” says Mitzy Moore.

The goal of Breast Intentions is to provide crisis intervention for

women who are facing financial hardship as they battle breast cancer.

Additionally, through their Pink Pact Initiative, it is the goal of Breast

Intentions to educate young women about breast health and the need

for regular breast self-examinations. For more information about

Breast Intentions, please email [email protected] or visit

them at www.breastintentions.org.
