If you are able to help please fill in the slip sent home today or on Skoolbag and return to the cream P&C drop box outside the office by 17

easy to open wallet) so that they do not become distressed by not being able to find it.

Discussing beforehand with your child what canteen options are available and what they might like to purchase is also helpful in the smooth running of canteen on the day.

Current Friday Canteen snack items:

Red Rock Deli chips $1.00

Plain Popcorn, Pretzels 50c

Chocolate Milk $1.00

Strawberry Milk $1.00

Just Juice poppers $1.00

If you have any queries you can contact the P&C via email [email protected]

THURSDAY MORNING TEA

The P&C would like to invite anyone who is free Thursday mornings after drop off, to the library (near the office) for morning tea. Children welcome too! This is a great chance to meet other parents at the school. Feel free to just pop in and say hi and maybe grab something to go even if you can’t stay. This will be happening every Thursday this term. Hope to see you there.

BUNNINGS BBQ

Our school has a fundraising BBQ at Kotara Bunnings

coming up on Saturday 4th

March. These BBQs are often

the most profitable fundraising activities we have over the

year as well as being a great place to meet other parents.

Assistance is required to help cook the BBQ, make the

sausage sandwiches and serve. The BBQ runs from

8:30am- 4pm. This is split into 4 shifts and volunteers are

needed to cover these shifts. Enclosed shoes must be

worn on the day as you will be near the hot BBQ. Due to

safety reasons only adults are able to assist.

If you are available to help out, please fill in the form sent

home today and return it to the cram P&C drop box

outside the office by Monday 20th February. Alternatively

you can fill in the form on skoolbag.

Thank you!

UNIFORM SHOP

The uniform Shop will be open this Friday between 2:45pm and 3:30pm. A list of times the uniform shop will be open will be coming out in the next few weeks.

If throughout the year you need to purchase any uniform items outside these times, please place your order forms and money in the cream P&C drop box outside the office. Allow 2–3 weeks for order to be filled by our volunteers. Order forms are available from the rack outside the school office, or you can download one from the Uniform Shop section of the P&C page on the school website.

Also, just so parents are aware, summer and winter girls’ uniforms are not held in stock – they are all made to order.

In the coming weeks we will be looking to order winter stock and will put a notice in the newsletter.

GENERAL VOLUNTEERING

There are many ways, both big and small (but all really helpful), that you can be involved in helping the P&C throughout the year, cutting out paper apples for teacher appreciation week, stamping raffle tickets, helping kids make mother or father’s day gifts, baking cupcakes and so many more. If you are happy to be sent emails from the P&C when we need a hand with something, please let us know by either filling out the space on the volunteer slip sent home today or emailing the P&C [email protected] . We will add you to the call out list and let you know whenever something comes up. Never any pressure, just say yes to those things you can do.

School Banking Information and account opening Session. New lambton Heights Infants is excited to offer the Commonwealth Bank School Banking program to all students. School Banking is a fun, interactive and engaging way for young Australians to learn about money and develop good savings habits. Children who deposit money into their Youthsaver account through School Banking earn Dollarmites tokens, which they can save up and redeem for exciting rewards. The rewards available during 2017 are:

Cyber Handball

Colour Change Markers

3D Chalk Set

Tablet Case

Smiley Emoji Keyring

Volt Handball

Pencil + Tech Case

School Banking is also a great fundraiser for our school. Our school receives $5 when a student makes their first ever School Banking deposit and 5% on every deposit made through the school (to a maximum of $10 per individual deposit). School Banking day is Thursday. Each week you need to hand your bank books to your teacher for collection.

We will be holding a School Banking Information Session at our school: Time: 2.00pm till 3.00pm Date: Tuesday 7th of February Location: COLA Please bring along your drivers licience and your childs birth certificate for id purposes

Please join us and find out more about the School Banking program and how your child can get involved. If you are interested in opening a Commonwealth Bank Youthsaver account for your child you can visit commbank.com.au/schoolbanking and click on the link to open a Youthsaver account. A School Banking representative will be available at the Information Session to show you how you can do this. In order to verify yourself and your child, you will need your driver’s licence and your child’s birth certificate, but if you don’t have these with you on the day, you can complete verification online at home.
