BUILDING STRONG SCHOOL-FAMILY- COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIPS
Hosting organization Vivere il Museo
Vivere il Museo is a cultural organisation with the mission of
promoting tourism and educational paths in schools,
families and for adults in general in the Municipality of
Mondavio and the province of Pesaro and Urbino;
furthermore the organistaion is engaged in the management
of historical monuments and the local theatre which has
been recently restructured. Mondavio is a small historical
town of the medieval and renaissance period, in the Marche
Region, Italy. It’s main attraction is the medieval castle,
designed by Francesco di Giorgio Martini and built between
1482 and 1492. Within the castle a historical museum of
clothes and festivities of the renaissance period has been
created and is used by Vivere il Museo within different
educational sessions to allow visitors to learn and imagine
the historical period, thus allowing to learn history, cultures
and traditions of the period in an informal way and practice
them through practical activities. Vivere il Museo is also a
member of “Museo Sarai tu”, a provincial network (in the
Province of Pesaro and Urbino) of didactic museums.

Course evaluation questionnaire
After the training courses organised in Turkey, Romania and Austria the partners have carried out an online questionnaire in order to evaluate the training path and the educational material created. In Denmark as qualitative focus group interviews. Overall 142 teachers, 187 students and 79 parents were involved in the course evaluation. The results were very positive. All the aspects of the courses were evaluated very well by the respondents. The courses were relevant for the daily practice of the participants and useful to improve the relationships between school, family and community.
Piloting training courses
Different training courses based on the three handbooks on “Social Values”, “Communication” and “Intercultural training” have been carried out in some partner countries. In Romania 140 teachers and parents were
involved in the training course entitled
“Strategies to Strengthen the School-Family-
Community Relationship”. The course was
approved by the Romanian Ministry of
Education and implemented through the
Teaching Staff Resource Center. In Turkey, one
group of teachers has finished the training
course. Other training courses are starting in the
different partner countries. In Denmark, the
focus has been on 4 pilot workshops with
parents and teachers building strong
relationship between school and family towards
inclusion based on excerpts from the
handbooks.
