Volunteer Role Description – Solihull Carers Centre Title: Research Assistant Responsible to: Volunteer Manager & Adult Team Worker Role Purpose: To help research telephone requests made by carers and research for information to support carers in need of advice or support. Location: Main office Hours of work: Flexible (Minimum of 4 hours/week) Tasks &responsibilities involved: To use office computers to research various organisations, services or facts on behalf of the adult carer support team. To make initial contact via email and telephone to organisations to gain information or resources to support carers. Skills. knowledge & experience required: Some experience of using and searching the internet. Good communication skills and telephone manner. Basic Microsoft Word and Excel useful. Effective record keeping skills. Personal qualities required: Ability to work in a confidential environment. Organised and methodical. Title: Research Assistant

Responsible to: Volunteer Manager & Adult Team Worker

Role Purpose: To help research telephone requests made by carers and research for information to support carers in need of advice or support.

Location: Main office

Hours of work: Flexible (Minimum of 4 hours/week)

Expenses: Mileage or bus fare incurred from travelling to and from main office.Reasonable lunch expenses.
