What should I expect from this program?
● Often referred to as MAT, MTLL, or MEd ● 30 or more hours of graduate level coursework ● Most programs allow candidates to teach under a provisional license while enrolled

Arkansas Professional Pathway to Educator Licensure (APPEL)
What does it offer*? Arkansas Licensure in any first-time licensure area with the exception of Special Education K-12 and Guidance and School Counseling
What should I expect from this program? ● 2 year commitment● 3 weeks of face-to-face intensive training during each summer● Monthly training commitments throughout each year● Candidate must secure a position as a teacher of record in an Arkansas school
for the duration of the program
What do I need to qualify for the program*? ● A bachelor’s degree or higher from a nationally/regionally accredited IHE● Passing scores on the current Praxis Subject Assessment for the subject/grade
level● Clearance of all required background checks● Two letters of professional recommendation● Completed APPEL Online Application (Application opens in March)● Score 30 points or higher on weighted criteria
How much does it cost? ● $1500 each year ($3000 for the entire program)● Individuals licensing in Computer Science grades 4-12 are eligible for a tuition

commitment to both the program and teaching at eStem Public Charter School● Candidates will be compensated as teacher of record throughout the program● Year one will require the candidate to be on eStem campus full time, participating
in experiences similar to a traditional field and internship, while also receivingface-to-face training a a

private schools)
What do I need to qualify*? ● 3 years of verified employment experience in the specific content area of
licensure
How much does it cost? ● Praxis subject assessments must be passed before the provisional license is
issued. Most Praxis exams cost between $100 and $150 per test● ProEthica online training ($50) must be completed and background checks ($50)
