“Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, ‘Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.’ So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. All the people saw this and began to mutter, ‘He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.’ But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, ‘Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”’

CALL TO WORSHIP (From Psalm 119:137-144) L: You are righteous, O Lord, and your judgements are right. P: You have appointed your decrees in righteousness and in all faithfulness. L: I am small and despised, yet I do not forget your precepts. P: Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and your law is the truth. Announcements for October 30, 2016

ADULT BIBLE STUDY

Professor Terry Daughtrey continues the series on the biblical holidays this Tuesday, November 1, at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday, November 2, at 6:45 p.m. in Souers Hall. The significance of the elements of Pesach, the first of the three Pilgrimage Festivals, celebrating the initial stage of Adonai’s establishing of a covenant with the people, will be explored in greater detail. We will also begin exploring the second of the three Pilgrimage Festivals. Shavuot, also known as the Feast of Weeks, commemorates the revelation of the Torah on Mt. Sinai and is associated with the grain harvest in the Torah. Please bring your Bible and a writing utensil if possible.

HALLO-PALOOZA TOMORROW

Hallo-palooza will take place TOMORROW, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the church’s parking lot. We need YOU! Bring your car, some candy, and your favorite Halloween décor. When you arrive, you will receive a parking space. Then, set up your lawn chair, open your trunk (and candy bags), and wait for kids to walk through

and trick-or-treat in a safe place. For those who would like to decorate the trunk, there will be a decorating contest. There will also be a hay maze, grave yard, and plenty of frightening sights for the kids as well. Please sign up in Souers Hall if you would like to participate. Make sure you also invite all of your family, friends, and neighbors! Everyone is welcome to come and trunk-or-treat, explore the hay maze, walk through the scary graveyard and enjoy hotdogs and drinks.

Take time to check out what’s happening…
