1. Practice writing weekly sight words (it & that) AND the following sentences:

“It is time to play.”“Is that your toy?”“That is my book.”

Remember- two finger spaces between each word. Sight words: Weekly sight words: it & thatCreate sight word flash cards. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE practice reviewing each night all sight word flash cards given so far with your child. (I, am, little, at, a, of, to, the, see, a, can, and, play, it, that)Letter Recognition: Review letter M and E and their beginning sounds. Have your child identify words that begin with the letters M and E. They should then cut out pictures from magazines or newspapers that begin with these letters. Glue pictures to back of handwriting sheet. Reading: Please read with your child each night. It is very important that your child have additional time at home to practice reading skills and sight word recognition. It is essential to increase their fluency, letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and to best prepare them for 1st grade reading skills and success.
