KIDS HELPING KIDS
This year, one of our youngest donors, Josie,
dedicated her 12th birthday to helping kids
in the Central African Republic gain access to
clean and safe water.
“I decided that instead of receiving
traditional gifts from my family and
friends, I would ask them to make a
donation to Water for Good.”
With Josie’s generous $60 gift, 12
children in Central Africa will have
clean water for the entire year.
Thank you Josie!
“Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future” — John F. Kennedy
This tragedy is totally preventable and your support helps local water heroes to innovate, take risks, and allows access to more water that lasts longer.
Our goal? Reach everyone in one focus region first, paving the way to END water poverty in the Central African Republic by 2030.
2019 PLANS Drill 145 new water wells, providing clean water access to at least 43,000 people
• We are tapping the power of the sun by installing 10 new solar-powered pumps in our focus region. By using solar power technology, we can provide water in a more cost-effective way
Ensure sustainability, monitoring, and maintenance to 1,750 unique wells across the country
• Launch at least one NEW motorcycle maintenance team
• Create a team solely focused on rehabilitating broken and forgotten wells
• Complete 174 water well rehabilitation projects • Increase spare pump parts so the teams always
have the parts they need to make a repair and can keep the clean water flowing
Short-wave radio programming • Adding more hours on-air• More focus on water, faith, and peacebuilding
Did you know that the lack of clean water and sanitation kills more people than all forms of violence, including war?

ENDING WATER POVERTY IN WAPO
Your generosity is making a lasting difference. Together, we can end water poverty in the Central African Republic by 2030.
IN 2018, OVER 600,000 PEOPLE ENJOYED RELIABLE WATER ACCESS IN THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC!When you have a colossal goal, you break it down into
subtasks right? Well, that’s what we are doing with tackling water poverty in the Central African Republic.
In 2018, Wapo was among the first of many towns in our “focus region” to receive several wells— ensuring that every man, woman, and child can always access sufficient, safe water from a nearby hand pump.
Your gracious commitment has allowed 2,000 residents of Wapo to have access to safe water. Marie-Pascal, a grandmother who manages a household of more than 10 people, has clean water in her own village of Wapo. Having recently lost a 5-year-old grandchild to waterborne illness, she is deeply appreciative for Wapo’s 6 new wells.
THE GOALEveryone in the Central African Republic will have clean drinking water by 2030.
THE SUBTASKFocus in on one region to perfect the drilling and maintenance process and then implement that plan throughout the whole country.
Since 2004, supporters like you have helped end the water crisis in one of the world’s most forgotten countries. Look at all that has been accomplished because of your generosity!

ENGAGING VIA RADIO
In 2018, our founder Jim Hocking focused his efforts to work with partners and the local team to make major improvements at the radio station. The message of peace, hope, and the Gospel are shared across the country via short-wave radio every day.
WATER FOR GOOD IS GROWING! In 2018, our annual budget grew by 64% compared to 2017, primarily in our direct operational cost of implementing new wells. As we grow, we remain committed to financial transparency. Every year we post our IRS 990s and the results of a third- party financial audit, available here: www.waterforgood.org/financials
