(Sierra Madre)

I like the style of this font and the unique quirky shaping of the letters that make each shape a little out of proportion, giving a 1920’s art deco theme. This would be perfect as it would fit to a quirky Indie feel of magazine. On the other hand it may not look as good with a colour scheme and people may not be able to read the word clearly. The colour scheme I would choose would be to either keep it all whole black or have a whole colour such as purple with a black out line. The purple would stand out to the audience however with the black outline it may not look that professional.

This font is a lot thinner but still has the quirkiness of the out of proportioned letters. This font is better than the first one because it is easier to read and still has the quirky edge. However it may be a bit too simple and not stand out on the page, also it may be too thin to include a colour and a black outline if I wanted to.I would colour the whole font in one colour because being able to it in a black outline would be hard to do.

I love the bold style of this font, which means it would definitely stand out on the page. As it is quite thick I would be able to add colour easily to it to fit in with my magazine. On the other hand it is a very simple font and not 100% sure if it would fit right with the genre of my magazine of Indie Rock as it is quite square and not quirky in any way. The genre I would fit this more to would be Electronic as it has quite a Sci-Fi appearance.

(Upper East Side)

This font is a collaboration between the two fonts on the next page. I do like this font the sans-serif makes it less formal however it does have a style of a hair product just like “nite club” font. However it does have a unique quirky feel like the “blake” font.

This font is very similar to the font that Two Door Cinema Club use for their logo of their band, they are an Indie Rock band therefore this font would fit directly to the genre of my magazine its easy to read and has a quirky edge to it. This is my final choice however it depends on what my audience think would be appropriate for this age range and genre.

This font looks a little too much like the Tresemme hair product brand, too clean cut for a music magazine. Although the font is nice it has no uniqueness to it. The S has a different quirkiness about it but looking at the whole thing it looks like a font made for a much older and female audience rather than the younger generation for both girls and boys.

(28 Days Later)

This font fits more of a punk/rock/grunge genre with the shredded letters. It would also be very hard to apply colour to it as it would have a lot of gaps to try and fill around. It isn’t particularly easy to read either therefore the audience wouldn’t be able to read it easily on the shelf.

(RiotSquad)

This isn’t at all what I’m looking for. It is too perfect and straight, no added quirkiness to it making it not unique at all. The serif add on is nice for the font but it look way too formal to be used in my style genre of magazine.
