What makes a good masthead?

Here are some examples of music magazine mastheads. As you can see all of these mastheads would stand out when placed on the front cover of a magazine. This is key as the customer needs to know what magazine they’re looking for and a large masthead is the thing they’ll be looking for.

Another key feature about mastheads are that they are always very big, bold and easy to read as the customer wants to know what magazine this is straight away.
