The issue Thrust Reversers are an important element in the braking power of an Aircraft after touchdown. They play a pivotal role in the Engine Exhaust system by reversing the thrust of the high bypass ratio jet engine. Thrust Reversers typically comprise various types of material and operate in harsh environments with heat impact from the engine. Higher temperatures could occur due to hot precooler air leakage between the inner wall of the thrust reverser and the insulation blankets, and heat transfer through the upper compression pad area and the fireseal bracket support flange. An Airworthiness Directive and several Service Bulletins are applicable to Thrust Reversers on several 737NG models. The issueThrust Reversers are an important element in the braking power of an Aircraft after touchdown. They play a pivotal role in the Engine Exhaust

system by reversing the thrust of the high bypass ratio jet engine. Thrust Reversers typically comprise various types of material and operate

in harsh environments with heat impact from the engine. Higher temperatures could occur due to hot precooler air leakage between the inner

wall of the thrust reverser and the insulation blankets, and heat transfer through the upper compression pad area and the fireseal bracket

support flange. An Airworthiness Directive and several Service Bulletins are applicable to Thrust Reversers on several 737NG models.

The adaptive solution developed by AFI KLM E&MAFI KLM E&M has developed adaptive solutions to repair and modify the 737NG Thrust Reverser Door. As an airline MRO, AFI KLM E&M has

a wealth of knowledge of Aerostructures part life cycles and optimized maintenance programs. It has developed high-quality, adaptive solutions

that greatly lower the risk of operational disruption and fit with operators’ economic requirements.

Our appropriately trained mechanics detect the smallest deficiencies and have the expert skills to repair composites, honeycombs and sheet

metal. AFI KLM E&M can do detailed inspections for damage, interply delamination and skin-to-core disbond, as well as ultrasonic inspections

and electrical conductivity measurement. Any damage can be repaired by replacement of parts or by approved repairs, in compliance with

applicable Service Bulletins.

Our level of quality is recognized worldwide, but AFI KLM E&M continually invests in both modern equipment and facility development. We

also continually improve our processes through, e.g., Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and by developing new repair technologies to reduce costs and

shorten turnaround times.

AFI KLM E&M has developed adaptive solutions for 737NG Thrust Reverser Door modifications whichoptimize maintenance programs and greatly reduce the risk of operational disruption.
