Dear Parents,

WORLD EXPO ART SHOW - It was a WOW! Congratulations to all of our students for creating such wonderful works of art for display at the Pinewood Primary School, ‘World Expo’ art show. Individual classes focused on the art and culture of one country in particular, totalling 35 different cultural art displays, thus making up the majority of nations reflected in our school community. Each classroom also created a collaborative class canvas for display and as a contribution toward the silent auction. The class canvasses were just amazing to view. A huge ‘thank you’ and congratulations to Ms. Francine Combes and Ms. Susan Tate, our exceptionally talented Art teachers, for the enormous amount of planning, organisation and teaching undertaken to create such a successful ‘World Expo’ art show. Thanks also to Ms Sandra McGregor for her outstanding logistical organisation of the food trucks, stage, lighting and parent performers, etc. for the event. Our parent musicians were very generous in offering their musical services for the World Expo art show, playing different types of cultural music for us to hear and appreciate - many thanks to our parent musical performers, Nigel Davis and Des Anthonisz, and to Charmaine and Ranjeewa Wickremasinghe. I would also like to thank the many parent helpers who came along to the school on Tuesday to place/ hang the student art work onto the large display panels in the hall in readiness for the big event. I’m sure you will all agree- The ‘World Expo’ art show, was a sensational success and our Pinewood PS students are all very creative and exceptionally talented!

YEAR 2 SLEEP OVER – next week Students in Year 2 have been looking forward to their special ‘sleep over’ night at school for some time now. Finally the big night is in sight. Next Friday 14 September, the Year 2 students and 17 staff will be enjoying lots of fun filled activities and then the long awaited sleep over. How exciting!

Coles for Schools On behalf of all the

children at Pinewood

Primary School we

would like to thank all

the parents, relatives

collected Coles

vouchers for us. We

for wet/hot day timetables for Grades 4-6.

In total we collected 75,000 vouchers! A fantastic

effort!

We would like to give a special thank-you to

Michelle Ash and Cindy Lowe who rolled our

vouchers into groups and put them in the postal

bags. Thank-you to the office team at Pinewood

also, for helping with this process.

As you can see from the picture the equipment will

be much appreciated.
