STLP Goals and Projects Goal #1 Some activities that improved my academic growth are:

• ThinkQuest has enhanced my research, webpage creating, science, and social studies skills. I have used ThinkQuest since I was in 2nd grade. I have created a main page with an autobiography and a self-portrait, educational pages, Travel The USA and Animalology, and my fun page that has polls about your favorite kind of pop, color, and other interesting things. • MathFacts in a Flash has increased my math and memorization skills. I used MathFacts in a Flash when I was in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade.

• Education City has helped my math and grammar skills. I used Education City in 5th grade.

• Soccer Math has improved my math skills. I used this program in 5th grade.

• Super Science Show has increased my health and science skills. I have used Super Science Show all through out elementary school.

• Chuckwagon Bill has improved my grammar skills. I have used this program in 3rd grade.

• IBM Write Along has helped my writing, language, and reading skills. I used this program in 2nd grade.

• Micro Paws has increased my typing skills. I used Micro Paws all throughout elementary school.

• Type To Learn 3 has improved my typing, reading, grammar, and social studies skills. I have used this program since 4th grade.

• Corner Stone Math has increased my math skills. I used this program in the 3rd grade.

• Math Packs 3 has improved my math skills as well. I used this program in 5th grade.

• Accelerated Reader has enhanced my reading skills. I have used this program beginning in kindergarten.

• Being a part of the group Arrowhead Graphics has improved my desktop publishing skills by certificates, banners, and maintaining the student of the month bulletin board. I have been in Arrowhead Graphics for 3 years.

• Participating in Technology Quick Recall has increased my technology skills. I have competed in technology quick recall last year, and I will be competing this year too.

• Being in the Minds on Challenge has improved my technology

skills as well. I competed in this in 4th grade.

Goal #2 Some ways that STLP has given me leadership opportunities are:

• Teaching other kids how to use Microsoft Paint has given me leadership opportunities.

• I have taught kids how to use the mouse.

• I have gotten distinguished in typing every year • I have taught kids how to create music on a software called

Garage Band.

• I taught kids how to make movies.

• I created a group at our school called the Charles Russell News Crew.

• I created Operation Holiday cards for our school, and this year my card got second place, and it got entered in the digital art competition for the State Competition for STLP.

• I was a demonstrator for our showcase in the state competition.

• I cut box tops and UPCs for our school. • So far I have put in 54 hours of STLP for this year.

Goal #3 STLP will experience multi-age collaboration by forming innovative learning partnerships.

• I recycle ink cartridges for my school with other aged students.

• I cut box tops and upc labels for my school. • I created Operation Holiday Cards for our school. • I have taught little kids how to use the mouse.

• I have taught kids how to make power points. • I have taught younger kids how to make certificates. • I have made banners with other kids using the program MS

Publisher.

• I have shown kids how to use MS Paint. • I have helped Kindergartners use computer equipment.

• I competed in the Minds On Challenge for the STLP State Competition with a partner.

• I have recycled pop can tops for my school. • I have competed in Technology Quick Recall.

Goal #4 The STLP will form leading partnerships between students with different technology skills.

• I have worked with kids that had different skills in podcast making and we created the Tall Tale Theatre.

• I have created banners for our school with other students. • I am in a group called Arrowhead Graphics at our school for

publishing certificates and maintaining the student of the month bulletin board.

• I have written articles for our school newsletter. • I was a cyber reporter at the Morehead Regional Showcase this

year.

Goal #5 The STLP will develop activities that benefit our communities.

• I have created Operation Holiday Cards for my school.

• I have cut UPC labels, and box tops for my school. • I have helped create the Tall Tale Theatre for the school.

• I have helped publish newsletters for my school. • I have recycled pop can tabs for my school. • I have cleaned and installed software for my school’s

computers.

Goal #6 The STLP will develop instructional activities, which integrate technology and benefit the school and support the Kentucky Education Technology System.

• I have created Operation Holiday Cards for my school.

• I have created web pages on a website called ThinkQuest.

• I have created games from a software called Hot Potatoes. • I have helped created a podcast called Tall Tale Theatre.

• I have made movies for the school. • I have made music off of a software called Garageband.

• I have created PowerPoints called My Birthday and Ben Franklin.

• I have many portfolio pieces I have made since 1st grade. • I have used clickers to do social studies tests. • I have made a all-about me graphic organizer on Inspiration.

STLP Leadership • Being a part of STLP since 4th grade has helped me have many

leadership activities. • I have won the Teachers Choice Award for the Operation

Holiday Cards in 4th grade.

• I have one 2nd place in 5th grade for Operation Holiday Cards.

• This year I won 2nd place in Operation Holiday Cards too.

• Last year I competed in showcase and made it to state by

losing only one point. • I have won the President Volunteer Service Award (gold) for

staying at STLP for over 100 hours.

• I got third place in the Minds On Competition in 4th grade.

• My digital music made it as a finalist at the State Competition

• I teach other kids how to create certificates in Arrowhead Graphics.

• I have the President Volunteer Service Award for staying over 50 hours in 4th grade.

• In 3rd grade I got 3rd place in keyboarding, with a distinguished rate.

• In 4th grade, I got 3rd place in keyboarding, with a speed of 32 WAM.

• In 5th grade, I got 2nd place in keyboarding with a speed of 35

WAM.

• This year, I have not taken the test yet but my speed right now

is 55 WAM.

• I teach younger kids how to cut box tops and UPC labels. • I teach other kids how to use MS Paint. • In first grade I got 1st place in Operation Holiday Cards and 3rd

place in the whole school.

• In 2nd grade I got honorable mention in Operation Holiday

Cards.

• I completed a blog project in 2nd grade for www.ThinkQuest.com.

• In 2nd grade I completed the Kentucky Cyber Keys.

• In 2nd grade I got 2nd place in key boarding with 15 WAM at a

distinguished level.

• In 3rd grade I completed all 62 levels of Math Facts in a Flash.

• In 4th grade I got the 110% award for STLP.

• I was in the Beta Club in 5th grade and this year.

• I got the 110% award in 5th grade too.

• I am in a group at school called the Charles Russell News Crew.

STLP Reflection

STLP has helped me learn leadership skills, and I am very glad to be in it. I have used technology in STLP for music, digital art, showcases, creating music, digital art, keyboarding, and power points. STLP has turned me into a different person. Cutting box tops and UPC labels with younger kids taught me to work better with students. There have been many projects I have contributed to in STLP, and from that I have learned all kinds of skills so I can succeed in life. With all of the things I have learned in STLP, I will now do well in High School and college from the skills and opportunities STLP has given me. Because of STLP, I will know many different skills and have great leadership skills for later on in life when I have a job.
