About the SeminArForeign direct investment (FDI) has become a key battleground for emerging markets and some developed countries. Government-level policies are needed to enable FDI inflows and maximize their returns for both investors and recipient countries. The Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA), the gateway legislation for all Inbound and Outbound investments. The new consolidated FDI Policy issued by the Government of India has introduced some major changes to attract more FDI equity inflows into India.

The policy, which evolved as one of the strategies for export promotion and for strengthening economic linkages with other countries, has expanded significantly in scope and size, especially after the introduction of Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999.

Financial Institutions face the challenge of addressing the threat of money laundering on multiple fronts. The challenge is even greater for complex institutions that operate in several lines of business, IT systems and business cultures. Recent events in India and across the globe have highlighted the increased scrutiny and expectations of AML risk management programs by regulators. The bar is moving higher on AML compliance and financial institutions are being held to higher standards of evidence of compliance. Penalties for compliance failures have become more severe, putting executives and boards at greater personal risk. This two day event will provide clarification on stringent regulatory expectations; provide insight into the latest best practices, access to in-depth discussions of the AML risk management challenges that most affect your business while also facilitating an integration of global regulations and best practices for AML and compliance.
