Book descriptions Shadha al Arf (Advanced Arabic morphology) Authored by the Azhari Shaykh Ahmad al Hamalawi. This book is the most commonly studied contemporary work on the science of Sarf. Mukhtasar al Quduri (Introductory Hanafi Fiqh) One of the most influential texts in Hanafi Jurispudence; its sequencing of chapter headings became the standard for the books of Fiqh which followed. It comprehensively covers all areas of Fiqh, from Prayer to Marriage to the Islamic Penal Code and beyond. Alfiyyah ibn Mālik (Advanced Arabic Grammar) The famous thousand and two couplet poem incorporating the rules of grammar, traditionally memorised by students. The study of the poem will be accompanied by the commentary of ibn Aqīl. Al Hidāyah (Sharh Bidāyah al Mubtadī) (Advanced Hanafī Fiqh) This book presents the corpus of Hanafi Fiqh in its most refined state and has spurred countless commentaries by jurists. It has traditionally been the final stop, concluding the student’s journey of Fiqh under a tutor. The book will provide a detailed study of the rites of worship, and laws of Marriage and Divorce. Riyād as Sālihīn (Prophetic Traditions) A Hadith Compilation of 1905 Hadith spanning 372 chapters. This book sources narrations from the famous Six Canonical Books of Hadith and serves students with a holistic overview of the entire Islamic Tradition. Tafsīr al Jalālayn (Quranic Exegesis) Probably the shortest exegesis of the Qur’ān, concisely and comprehensively elaborating on the meanings of the verses and chapters without delving into lengthy discussion. Nukhbah al Fikar (Intermediate Principles of Hadīth Study) This book furthers the student in understanding Hadīth nomenclature.
