REJOICE

Isaiah proclaims truly good news to us! God’s

coming brings not sadness, guilt, fear, wrath, or

condemnation. No, God’s coming is a source of

comfort and joy. Saying it once is not enough, for

today’s readings are full of joy. Mary’s Magnificat

substitutes for our psalm today, and our second

reading encourages us to rejoice, to give thanks

and praise. This is the root meaning of the Greek

word for eucharist. We are urged to rejoice and

give thanks, because the coming of the Lord brings

joy, healing, liberty, release, vindication. It makes

the very earth spring up with new life! Good

El Magníficat de María reemplaza a nuestro salmo

hoy y nuestra segunda lectura nos anima a

alegrarnos, dar gracia y rendir alabanza. Éste es el

significado principal de la palabra griega para

eucaristía. Se nos insta a alegrarnos y dar gracias,

porque la venida del Señor trae júbilo, curación,

libertad, perdón y vindicación. ¡Hace que la tierra

eche brotes de vida nueva! ¡Buenas noticias!

POSADASPOSADASPOSADAS Come and join us for our traditional Posadas every night at 7:00 pm starting the 16th until the 24th. In the Original Church Small reception afterwards.

The Posadas is a beautiful tradition faithfully transmitted from one generation to the next in Hispanic families. The devotion reenacts the journey of May and Joseph asking for lodging in Bethlehem. Several times Joseph asks for shelter for his family, and several times he is refused, until the owner of a stable recognizes the couple as the holy pilgrims and bearers of salvation, and lets them in.

This Mass is for all deceased children, especially those who have died before birth or baptism, and for victims of abortion. Participants will have the opportunity to inscribe in a special book the names of the children and families they wish to remember and to light a candle in their honor. Come join us in praying for these innocent souls and those who mourn their loss.

Los invitamos a que nos acompañen en oración por estas almas inocentes y por las personas que están en duelo por ellas.

Christmas Break |Receso Navideño

Youth Group will not be meeting the following dates due to Christmas break. Thursday, December 21st and Thursday, December 28th.

On Dec. 21st, we will be celebrating an optional Posada for all the youth. We invite the youth and their families to come join us. This event will start at 7:00pm in the original church and you are invited to bring something if you would like to contribute to the “aguinaldos” that will be given out for children.
