PREPARING FOR YOUR VISIT

• Hard copy guides will be provided on the day, so no need to print this.

• Bring some copies of your up-to-date CV. The employers, alumni and careers centre can all comment on it.

• Employer stands:

o Some companies, particularly smaller ones which recruit on an ad-hoc basis, may take on interns directly from this fair if they are suitable. Come prepared!

o Prepare questions, e.g. making your application stand out; do they have office open days; about the application process etc.

• Alumni area:

o Read the short summaries in this booklet and decide who you’d most like to talk to.

o Example questions will be dotted around on sheets of paper on desks.

o Experienced liaison staff will be on hand to break the ice, keep conversations flowing etc.

Come to our presentation from 1430-1515! “The King Edward's Consortium offers the secondary Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP), with both Teaching Agency funded and school-funded places available. This route suits people who want to gain Qualified Teacher Status and continue to earn their living while they train. The training salary for a Graduate Teacher is at Point 1 of the Unqualified Teacher Salary Scale. For 2012/13 we are specifically looking for applicants in Physics, Chemistry, French, Spanish, German and Urdu. Applications in other subjects are most welcome and will join our active waiting list. The Excellerate Global Leadership Program prefers candidates with two degrees, and one of them should be a Masters in Business, Marketing or Economics. 2-4 years of work experience in various sectors is also preferred.
