What is it?What is it?3DCS Advanced Analyzer/Optimizer is an add-on module to

3DCS comprised of two core functionalities:1. Analyzer: An equation based analysis output that precisely

identifies the amount and source of variation within an assembly.

2. Optimizer: A tool for optimizing tolerances to achieve best quality based on a minimal cost or optimize quality based on a fixed budget.

How does Analyzer work?How does Analyzer work?

The 3DCS model is converted into an equation based model where:

1. Tolerance changes can be made in a graphical interactive matrix providing instantaneous feedback of updated results.

2. Analysis Results are viewed in Numerical or Graphical format.

3. Using a color-coded matrix of the Sensitivity Index, user can interactively emphasize contributors that are of great importance to the measurements.

1. Optimize tolerances to achieve best quality at a minimum cost.

– Allocate largest possible tolerances (larger tolerance = less cost) while still meeting dimensional objectives.

2. Optimize quality for a given fixed budget.– Allocate largest possible tolerance at the least amount of cost to

achieve “Target Cost”. In this case it may be possible that dimensional objectives are not met.
