As time has gone on, hip hop and R&B has become increasingly popular with more and more people due to the artists becoming more and more powerful subsequently heightening the fan base. Over time, R&B/hip-hop has become more main stream, therefore, my magazine can be sold in larger places and a larger variety as the likelihood of purchase is a mass amount simply due to the fan base of Hip-hop/R&B overall. When Hip-hop/R&B was first introduced it was seen as ‘hood’ and ‘gangster’, this impression decreased as the music became more available.

My magazine has the ability to sell in larger stores rather than simply music specialists, this is due to the social groups popularity being huge as well as the passion for hip-hop and R&B. It may also be sold in smaller specialist music stores which focus on a particular genre of music, in my case this would be a store which focuses its product range on hip hop/ R&B music. My media product could heighten the range of Hip-hop/R&B sold in many other places also.

These places range from Tesco to HMV; however, selling the media product in Tesco and selling it in a direct music store such as HMV the outcome of the purchase is different. Tesco target multiple audiences and social groups as the supermarket offers various aspects of shopping from food to clothes to media. Whereas, distributing the media product from HMV, a store attracting simply media lovers, the purchase percentage is of course heightened.

Another platform which may promote the reading of my magazine is websites. Again, these website could be based on everyday aspects or simply just music such as MTV, which is dedicated to music and products related to the music industry. It is likely that MTV would take a particular interest in my magazine as it focuses not only on existing stars but up and coming artists which may not be signed to a music label yet.

MTV displays existing music artists, especially Hip-hop/R&B, therefore, would be the perfect institution to present my media product. Many music labels pay particular attention to online platforms in order to find new stars and if such artists are featured in my magazine it is likely that music websites such as MTV would be interested in promoting my magazine. Online purchasing of magazines has recently become so popular as the internet is a daily use in most peoples lifestyles, therefore, purchasing the magazine from your phone or laptop allows it to be quick and easy whether you are reading the issue onlineor getting it delivered to your door.

Luckily, an easy way of accessing my media product would simply be local corner shops as they are known for their mass stock of magazines. Including, lifestyle magazines, car, fashion and beauty and music. This will be beneficial as it will increase the magazine’s ‘reach’. My magazine will be published by publishers such as vibe holdings and Harrisons publishing. Depending on the distributors and the publisher’s the length of success.
